I have a very old PC comprising of:-

MSI K8T Neo 2 V2.0 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
2x512MB DDR 400 Corsair Platinum Ram
Geforce 7600GT 256MB
1 GB H.D.D 7600 Speed
DVD Burner

I dont know how long I have had this PC but build it with a friend many moons ago. Whilst it was able to play the latest games when I first built it, nowadays it cannot play any latest games very well, if at all. I can still play older games like Quake, Wolf, even WoW at about 30-60 fps.

I am not working and don!t have much money and to make things worse I am living in Argentina where PC Components are at least 50% more than in the U.K.

Since I build this PC I have replaced the Motherboard a couple of times, replaced the Power supply once, replaced two H.D.D!s and only a week ago my darn 7600GT got smoked due to overheating. The PC is in the Kitchen where room temperatures easily get to 50+ degrees celcius. I took it to the repair shop and the only AGP graphivs card they could find was a FX 5200 which they charged me about 50 pounds for!!! I think my PC has started to die because of the very high room temperatures in summer. All the thermal paste had totally dried out on my GPU which fried the card.

This new card is about 3 times worse than my 7600GT and cannot play anything, it is really awful compared with my 7600GT.

I am totally cheesed off, with no cash that I cannot even play WoW any more, although I can still play Wolf (Return to Castle Wolfenstein).

I am also struggling playing the latest Flash Games on Facebook, with very low FPS and extreme slowdown due to my CPU limitations.

I think I have three questions really:-

1. Does anyone still make AGP graphics cards, if so whats the best one?

2. I know that you will say Id be better off saving some cash and getting a new rig. If I keep my Case, Power Supply, 1TB H.D.D., DVD Burner and VGA monitor what is the cheapest replacement Motherboard, RAM, Graphics and CPU I can get and will getting a CPU with onboard Graphics play the games I want to play like WoW and older games like Quake, return to Castle Wolfenstein and latest Flash games etc or are they a waste of time?

If I save up some cash the most I could afford is about 200 pounds.

Yeah, you need to get a new board and RAM. AGP is long dead.

With a budget of £200, the APUs are probably the best bet. You could save a bit by going with an Asus A55 board (£47) and an A8-5600K (£72).

If you're sure about sticking another agp card in there, I think an ati 4850 is one of the best you can get but it is likely to be expensive dur to this, especially for a second hand card. I think the Amd APU posted above would be more powerful than a 4850.

Definitely - with 2400MHz RAM and overclocked a little, the APUs more or less match a 6670.

hello,
i am an owner of that card, and i could say that that was a bad choice, that gpu came about in 2000s, that's about 13 year, i can still play games like crosfire at a 25-40fps on lower settings, and basically is still very good quality, but for that price is too much, i wont give more that £10, which on your country is £15, for that price grab a 610, which on your country it will be £45.

also i will look at 6800k, it got a good igp, that can run batlefield 3 in ultra settings
YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD A10-6800K Black Edition 4.10GHz (Socket FM2) APU Richland Quad Core Processor (AD680KWOHLBOX) £119.99
1 x ASRock FM2A55M-DGS AMD A55 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £39.95
1 x GeIL Black Dragon 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Single Module (GD34GB1600C11SC) £31.99
Total : £202.73 (includes shipping : £9.00).

It's a good idea to get at least 1866MHz RAM with the APU for graphics performance, ideally 2400MHz. It adds about 20% frame rate over 1600MHz.
