Hi all, I was wondering if you tech geniuses could recomend all parts for
a £400 or €450 gaming pc? I have a gaming laptop and I don't know if can I
re use the hard drive. But I have a mouse already so its everything including a moniter and keyboard. Please let me know if I can re use my hard drive, dvd drive and anything else. Also since I am in Ireland this is the only site I can purchase parts from, so the 22 pound shipping dosent count. Thanks all for reading and hope yous can help. Conor.

What are the specs of your gaming laptop? don't know what sort of upgrade you'd be looking at and do you really want to render your laptop useless by removing the harddrive? anyways here's my suggestion... Just noticed it was €450 not £ maybe someone could get the extra off.

Wheres the monitor and operating system ?

£400 for a gaming machine ,monitor and operating system is virtually impossible.

No monitor I`m afraid, you will have to use the TV. The "B" Z68 you will need to check with OCUK if it has the upgraded bios for IB Cpus. OS, you can use the Win 8 evaluation for 3 months until you have the funds to buy one, see link below. Also hav`nt included a dvd-rw, as you could probably get one off a friend/ family member. If not, you should be able to pick up a second hand one for a fiver.

This is just about in budget if you get Win 7 elsewhere (about £50 on top). It's not exactly wonderful, but it'd work as a budget gaming PC. It would run most games very well at 720p, and with reduced settings at 1080p. It's got a low quality PSU, but it draws very little power so it'd be fine.

£10 extra would get an A10-5800K, which would be well worth it.

At 1280x800 even Crysis 2 is fine:

I've just finished building my rig and was a total cost of 400 without monitor and GPU.

Corsair 200r case £50
Intel i3 3220 3.3ghz £90ish
Gigabyte B75m-D3H Mobo £60
2x4gb Corsair XMS3 RAM £50
Corsair CX500w PSU £40
Cooler master evo 3 cooler 20
Win7 OEM £40
WD 1tb HDD £50
DVD drive £15

That's £415.
Then buy a HD7850 from OCuk and with it you get 8 games which you can sell for about £75 so the gpu costs £90 basically...

£500 without monitor (actually what I've done)

your windows on the laptop is retail or oem, also use the windows as the 8.1 preview and after buy one
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/preview-download

the cpu igp is very good, and after buy a 7750 to do hybrid crosfire(that budget is tiny, try to save up more

Here's a revision of my earlier suggestion.

This would be a reasonably good very low budget gaming PC + monitor. If you can afford any extra I'd put in a better CPU cooler (£15-£20), as if you overclocked this you'd get a good 20% extra performance in games.
