*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I wonder what we'll get after the first month. Free indie games and cheaper dlc? I also wonder how long until they start giving away full ps4 games.

Really loving the feature where you can download from your phone. Start the download from work and have it on your ps4 ready to play when you get home is sweet.

How many people are actually thinking of building a digital library on PS4? Rather than buying disc, buying everything from the store?

I'd go digital if it was cheap enough but as the prices will be rrp I don't think I'll bother. I'd rather have a hard copy so I can do with it as a please.

It'll depend on price. I prefer boxes as I'm a bit of a collector, but if the game is cheap enough in a sale, I tend to be tempted towards digital.

I might buy the odd game depending on pricing, but it's inevitable that new releases will be more expensive than retail. There's no point.

Probably might consider the ones that Ill alway want to have on my console,so probably the bigger MP titles, ones where even if the digital version is a bit more expensive its just better to have it on the HDD...

Anyone else thought that as the 4GB to 8GB RAM was only announced in Feb which shocked all the third party developers (think most first parties were aware) that actually the first wave of games might not be that representative of how pretty/big/clever etc games might get. Seems to be a much higher glass ceiling than I first thought...

i have a feeling they knew as the devs kits came with 8 gig, i know they normaly have more ram than the release version but sony kept saying they asked devs what they wanted.

I dont agree with that purely as you said theres no way you would build a game to that spec without having the actual ability to have the additional resources for the development/debug environment.

regards to digital library, with psn giving away free games, i may wait it out on a few titles and just get them for free.

but buying online is always cheaper substantially than the current pricing anyway on new titles on the psn store.

you have to wait for a sale before games on the store get to the point they are cheaper.

so it depends on many factors, internet connection being another, if your on 5MB then ordering online could work out faster and cheaper, etc.

if you dont already have "invisible hand" installed, then you really should, it automatically searches google for other retailers selling the same product and pop's up telling you if another place is cheaper.

that way you know your getting the best deal available.

Was browsing the PSN store earlier and noticed that Assasins Creed 4 and Watchdogs have been priced for ps3 preorder. Bargains at only £59.99 and £55.99 respectively

Sony really need to get their poop together with the store pricing on ps4 if they have any hope of shifting more than a handful of digital games. Why pay way more for less unless you are supremely lazy or impatient.

The reason i went on to the store in the first place was to see if i could nab Sleeping dogs with the meagre £16 i have in my wallet as Gta 5 made me want another open world game. But no, sleeping dogs which is less than £15 pretty much everywhere was £49.99...

Those are the RRP prices and Sony themselves have said they don't want to put stores out of business by low balling them. I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm just saying.
