So, how many out there actually check\change their download location?

after suffering <1Mb/s and constant drops for the past day waiting on BL2 DLC I decided to check it out.
Change it from UK - London to UK - Manchester and bang constant >7Mb/s :D

I change between Manchester and London depending on the load on the server and if I'm getting poor download rates on the one I'm currently on.

havn't changed it in a year or 2 get 12meg normally unless its after 5pm and I download over 5gb then I get slowed :P

May I ask what connections you have?

I've got virgins 50mb line and have yet to see any game go over 2.1mb download regardless of server.

I generally use London but if its a bit slow (sale season) I switch to Paris. Running 120MB Virgin and usually hit 12-13MB/sec downloading from Steam.

I have a slow connection so it makes little difference. I tend to use Manchester simply as it's closer to where I am.

Quite odd that the UK only gets two servers yet South Africa has something like six!

I'm on VM 100MB (unless they've finished upgrading me to 120 already), normally get 12-14 MB/s downloads on Steam.

A fine quality reminder. I've been watching BL2 downloading at speeds from 0 kb/s to 120kb/s. Changed the location to Manchester and it's up to 1-1.3mb/sec.

I might actually get to play the game tonight :D

NZ has 8, they have a population of 4mil..

Changed it from the default (London) to Manchester earlier today. I have found it make very little difference on my BT ADSL connection.

I will ask this question here as it would have the same title as this thread haha

but my steam is randomly installing games when it updates to a drive that I haven't told it to, how do I go about stopping this happening?

I've never thought of checking this before, I'll have to check it out later.

Don't do that, your games will be in French!! :p
