I just read that Sapphire have revealed two versions of the 7830 card; perhaps this was mistaken to be the 9970?

So where does this put someone looking to buy a new card? I was going to go for a 7870 xt or 7950 but now I'm wonder if it's worth waiting to see how these perform or if prices drop some more on 7950's

depends you could be, if its on tax year which to be honest nearly all companies work off that system, then OCT - DEC is in Q3 with Jan - March being Q4.
Oddly the company i work for uses the Calendar year
