Why would it?
had a look on their forum, someone posted that it came from a twitter feed: @dimarzio who is apparently a Sky Sports Italy reporter (not much credibility)No idea it was a retweet by this is anfield I think
if that happens I wonder how well it will work out, Jovetic is/was apparently desperate to join Juve but Viola were absolutely determined to sell to any other clubJovetic signing for City looks like it'll be announced soon.
Well you haven't forgot my little tongue in cheek comment regarding Thiago being a barce sub..
You think too highly of yourself.
I can remember someone saying it, I tend to skim read your posts tbh.
Goal: City will pay £23.3million + £2.6million in addons to Fiorentina for Jovetić, making it a potential £25.9million deal in total. 80k a week + performance based bonuses.
A decent price imo. Versatile, skillful, scores goals and creates.
Already had his medical in Florence apparently and will fly straight to South Africa.
With Aguero and Dzeko there is no chance we would sign another big name striker. Especially considering Higuain would be leaving Real to be the main man at his next club.Any reason why you aren't in for Higuain? For that sort of money you could have got a better player (imo)
The Fabregas offer is very interesting.
Obviously, I'd be totally shocked if it happened, and reasons for our attempts to fail definitely outnumber the reasons they might succeed, but they might.
If the £25m~ opening bid is indeed true, then that is rather insulting even as an opening bid. £30-35m~ would be more accurate and a more respectable opening bid, I think we'll need to push closer to £40m to get him.
Much of the above could depend on whether these clauses with Arsenal actually exist, the first refusal one probably does, but that's close to meaningless. We have RvP who I believe he is friends with, so that could help tip things in our favour.
I doubt he'd actually want to leave Barca, nor would Barca want to sell him, having just sold Thiago, that in itself makes it a rather strange bid. Xavi isn't getting any younger and Cesc has been touted as his replacement for a long time.
He would however be an utterly tremendous signing, one I had barely even considered due to him being too expensive and the fact he is most likely happy at Barca.
If he is open to the move - I assume his agent may have privately given us some indication that he is - then I hope we're prepared to pay whatever it takes (within reason). Could a rare swap deal with Rooney be on the cards in the end? You never know.
Back on the topic of Thiago, it appears we were never actually trying to sign him - which is rather dumb if true. We denied our interest and so did Barcelona, not unusual, but the only indication of our interest came mostly from the media, though I believe his father had name dropped us in an interview a while ago, but I could be wrong.
So, fingers crossed for Fabregas, but there are more than a few hurdles to overcome before it starts to look likely.
Arsenal are clever negotiators. I fully believe the first option and 50% transfer fee do exist as Barca would not have envisaged selling him.
In that case, if Arsenal bid £25m, then any other club would have to stump up £50m to match it. No club will do that, not even Utd.
It's 50% of any profit on the deal that Arsenal would get, not 50% of the fee.
With Aguero and Dzeko there is no chance we would sign another big name striker. Especially considering Higuain would be leaving Real to be the main man at his next club.
Jovetic whilst not as good a striker is far more versatile and ticks more boxes for our squad.

I beg to differ.
When Fabregas returned to Catalan in 2011, the Gunners struck a deal that would see them net 50 per cent of his next transfer fee.
The clause means Barcelona chiefs are only likely to consider an astronomical offer for Fabregas given they have to give half of the fee to Arsenal.
You just said Arsenal are clever negotiators, your opinion is null and void.
If barce don't think he will get many games maybe they will sell to save on his wages
How rude! You certainly live up to your username.
