Lack of wasps

Wasps are bees with trollface.jpg attached to them (and opposite pH in their sting). Good riddance to them. They serve no purpose apart from food chain possibly.

Not only are they part of the food chain they also prey on other annoying insects such as flies. Everything has a place in the chain and their nests are incredibly impressive!

There were empty wasp nest husks in my shed. I saw them this year, promptly removed them and green binned it! Not seen many around this year though. Am having a BBQ on Saturday so no doubt they will be around then.

There was a wasp nest in a tree at my daughter's school. They put a barrier around the area to stop kids getting too close but I always stand there at pickup time and I have never seen one (which is good thing as I don't carry a flamethrower).

We do have plenty of bees in our garden thanks to several wilx patches of flowers. I can stand there for ages watching them collect nectar.

They don't really bother me , been stung a few times, last was on the neck whilst welding ,think they are attracted to the UV light.
live and let live its only a WASP:D:D
I dont do the Wasp dance either ;)

One flew in through my kitchen window the other day, did one circle around the room, and then flew DIRECTLY into my chilli con carne which was simmering on the cooker. Flew straight to its immediate death.

I'm sure the numbers have dropped , I used to see loads in the garden , especially when having a BBQ and getting swarmed by them.

I seem to see more bumble bees although not loads of them either.

Wasps generally appear more in August/September when the males fly away from the nest to leave the food stores for the young. They fly off confused and in search of sugar, which brings them into far more contact with humans than earlier in the year, while making them more prone to stinging. There's plenty of time for them yet.

Did it enhance the flavour at all?

Our climate is no longer good for them, they will likely die out, which is extremely bad for our pollination count.

Bees are more important, but wasps are still useful, even if they are the devils spawn.

Also it is hilarious to see teenage girls going ballistic at the mere assumption of a wasp nearby...don't let them die :(
