Chancellor George Osborne is considering lowering the maximum amount families can claim in benefits to £20,000 a year, Treasury sources say.

Seems like all out war on those that either work for low wages or the unemployed.

On top of this the increase to almost market rents in the social sector is a sure increase in homelessness in this country. How can they lower the housing benefits yet at the same time increase social housing rent to market rates, are they trying to destroy this country.
By push up social rents it would mean less people would want to work, if they really wanted people too work they would be finding ways to reduce rents.

You would think he would know that as he actually posted in the other thread!

Why would blaming poor people for the problems caused by the wealthy surprise you?.

It's been a repeating trend for the last few hundred years.

The optimist hopes things will work out fine, but the cynic in me hopes these short sighted ****-tards get what they want - our crime rate spirals out of control, living standards drop to rock bottom & the system collapse's under it's own greed & stupidity.

The end of civilised society will not be met with outrage & protest, but with cheering & approval.

"Families" on pure benefits should get neuteured. Make a family when you can afford it.

Jeez, hope you don't get made redundant or fall ill. Would be a shame to see your kids starve*, but hey, you should have provisioned for that, right? :p

*I am well aware you may not have children, you may even be a jobless bum or just posting tongue in cheek

People on benefits aren't ALL scummers on the take, but you rarely hear of the average Joe's in the gutter rags

What would you deem affordable?

Some people deem this as the only way to live

1 bedroom for each kid
private school
money away for uni
2-3 holidays a year
every gadget going
car fund for when the **** turns 17
etc etc

others think

bedroom shared
holiday - not required
little **** can make his own way in liffe
etc etc

Everyone has the right to a kid IMO, more then 1 then it's on your head to fund the ****er.

GO GET A JOB!

Me too. I've wanted a kid for years, but knew I couldn't offer the ******* a decent life style, so I didn't have one.

Uni - decent(ish) job - kid

I'll be 35 by the time I complete Uni, so it's then or never really.
