Hello guys, I have a bit of a problem!

I'm basically planning on eventually ending up with a (what would be right now a top end PC). My budget at the moment is around £1000, I would like to buy the parts that would be a very cheap replacement/swap but I would like a PC Capable of playing WoW. As I intend on buying this in the back end of August, I am not looking at the AMD GPU bundle offers and neither any other GPU at the moment. Once I have spent this £1000, I will look at putting another £800 into it? Things such as better RAM sticks, GPU's, Sound cards so on.

Truthfully, all I will be using my PC for at first is playing WoW, and other games with fairly similar graphical demands.

So to reitterate, I need a PC that I can buy that will get me up and running, which in another month after I can put about another £1000 into it.. I need a monitor and an OS, Keyboard and Mouse too..

My current build looks like this.
- Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 - £176.99 (Because I want a decent Motherboard which will still be good to use in a few years time.

- Intel Core i7-4770 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - £249.95 - Coming from no PC, I'm trying to go as high as I possibly can go at the moment, I am not interested in the 2011 socket as I feel it's a bit overkill for my needs.

- Avexir Core Blue Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit - £53.99 - also looking at Teamgroup RAM to, but ideally this is something I'm not to concerned about for the time being as I will probably just sell my sticks to a friend when I get paid the month after my PC has been built in order to buy some new ones.

- Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM - £76.99 - I will probably use this HD to boot Windows from at first, so no need to buy an SSD at the start. (May even just continue to use it as my OS drive as I don't really feel the need to use an SSD).

- Corsair Builder Series CX 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply - £78.98 I have chosen a Corsair PSU at 750W as I plan on purchasing two 760 GTX Graphics cards and SLI'ing them.. Whether or not, I need less or more I am not to sure so would need clarification on this one.

- Iiyama Prolite E2481HS-B1 24" Widescreen LED Super Slim Bezel Monitor - £155.99 A big fan of Iiyama as I've used them in the past, I plan on purchasing two monitors but will have to stick with one to begin with.

- Operating System! Now, I've heard of people mention that you can use a 3 months Windows 8 trial, which would be ideal because then I can save to buy Windows 8 pro / Windows 7 Ultimate whichever one I decide to use.. Could somebody help me with this and explain where I might find this offer?

- Razer DeathAdder 2013 6400 DPI Essential Ergonomic Gaming Mouse - £64.99
I have always been a Razer fan, it's green. It's black, it's shiny.. What more could you ask for?

- Roccat Isku FX Multicolour Gaming Keyboard - £84.98 An upgrade from my previous keyboard which I feel fits my hand perfectly hence the reason for purchase. Besides, it's pretty!

This all adds up to £962.86 by my watch, so if anybody could help me out, offer advice so on I would greatly appreciate it! Let me just remind.. I plan on SLI'ing two GTX 760's :) (I already have a Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 and therefore don't need a case)

Thank you very much, (Sorry for the essay)

I just don't feel that my needs at the time warrant the need of an SSD, besides I'd probably go for a high end Intel one as they have the lowest return rates and good reviews! For the first purchase though, in order to save money, I can't see why it's needed? I'm not truly bothered about it being able to perform amazingly, I just want it to be able to work UNTIL I buy the additional parts later on.

Idleman - Thank you very much, does anybody have experience with using this? I notice it states not to use this OS at home and so on, what are the reasons for this or is it just a thing by Microsoft to prevent exactly what I intend to do?

Anybody got any ideas on better RAM to upgrade to? Same with the GPU's? Not to sure whether to go for the new MSI lightning 780 GTX or SLI two 760GTX's at the moment.

Thank you once again guys!

This seems a bit odd..

The first £1000 should be spent ALL on your tower

If you NEED a monitor include it but if you have another you can use or a TV you can use for the time being i'd do that.

So first stage: £1000

Get the essentails, CPU (4770k), motherboard, RAM, Harddrive (no need for a black if using SSD), SSD, cooler, PSU (look at XFX PSU -750W-850W), OD and GPU (id go for the GTX 770).

Use cheap keyboard and mouse if you dont have one already (£15 for both)

Use developer OS

Stage 2:

Get your monitor, keyboard, mouse, OS and second GPU.

Makes your overall PC much better.

I can proper spec you later. :)

Just follow the process and download the ISO file. Then using Win 7 USB/DVD download tool, install it to a USB pendrive. Then all you have to do is install it to you new hdd/ssd. Simples.

Have to agree with Doomed, get all your important parts in the first build. No point in buying ram and then in a months time upgrading it, that would be a waste of money. Also get the ssd if it fits in your budget now, saves you having to re-install the OS again. The Toshiba ssd`s are reallly good value for the money and one to be consider, as is the Plextor.

Well, re installing Windows really isn't much of a drag for me now. Believe it or not, I don't actually have a TV to plug it up to :) Call me odd, but hey! I don't live in the best of places so it's something that I need upfront. As I said, the RAM will probably just get sold to a friend who was looking to upgrade for about 75% of the price which really I don't mind to much about losing out on that. Is a crazy GPU really needed at first with such a mediocre thing like WoW? I didn't realize it was so bad especially considering the onboard graphics from the Haswell seem to have been updated, I'm not looking at playing it on Ultra either to be honest, just play it in general. An SSD, I will most likely consider after some thought about it, but again.. Re installing Windows at a later date really isn't much of a problem

Gpu come with 8 free games. You can always add more ram if you need it. Also add a cooler in your next upgrade, along with another monitor and Gpu. Keyboard and mouse will get you by, until you have the funds to buy something more suitable.

Getting a k version cpu will allow you to overclock and increase performance and faster ram would be benificial .

Below is a few different models of ram for you to have a look at, including Avexir flashing blue light version. ;)

So all you need to buy is GPU's and a case next month?? Is this right?

2 things. You will need a case first lol and get an SSD. Stick you'r OS on there and any programme/game you play a lot of. This will also free your HDD to jut load things you want to open/use. Having your OS on the HDD as well can slow it down slightly. (Pretty sure this is correct, sure someone can confirm/correct this).

WOW is more CPU intensive than GPU isn't it?

So maybe the 4770k is a good choice and scrap the need for a second GPU (even though i suggested it :))..

As advised by Doomed below, WoW itself is more CPU based, I will however be using it for things like music production a little later down the line so the 4770K will be a requirement. I'm going to go with the advise above with the £10 Keyboard and mouse which helps me obtain my PC sooner than I originally thought! Anymore ideas would be greatly appreciated :) I'm going to spend up to around £500 on a GPU so SLI with two 760's is a great idea in my head as the power is identical if not a little bit more than a single Titan which costs around £1000 so it makes sence in my head! I'll be playing a lot of FPS games and graphically demanding games further on down the line, but the original plan with the PC is just to use it for WoW first of all :).

I will not be using an AMD GPU as I want to try out NVIDIA regardless of the free game (Bundle) offer.

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Come on guys, critisize my build so I can REALLY think about it!!!

I have made a thread in the General Hardware section where everything has been explained :) as I wrote above, I already have the case so it's not what I need. I am currently intending on swapping the mouse/keyboard out for a £10 make shift one. Upgrading to a 4770K (If I ever decide to overclock, not that it's something I REALLY aspire to do) and also my RAM sticks to the 2400Mhz Avexir blue. Currently thinking about an SSD, but first of all I still think I am going to install Windows on my HDD and when I get round to purchasing my second lot of hardware, I will most likely buy an Intel SSD

Thank you for your suggestions, if I could ask that you comment on the thread in the general hardware one to prevent from confusion or missed information, that would be fantastic

Kirikah!

I am not to sure about music production, I believe it is mainly RAM that's required for that but I'm also trying to future proof my system for as long as possible and who knows, maybe in the next 23345 years they might make games to use all 8 virtual cores! I will be doing the odd bit of video editing / creating but not enough to warrant the NEED of an I7, it's more about preventing myself from having to upgrade in the future.
