best cpu,ram for studio pc ?

hey guys, my cousin is in a band and wants a new pc for his studio, hes asked me to find out whats the best CPU and RAM for studio use? i.e recording tracks, editing, ect ect.. he said there will be a lot happening at once so needs to be able to handle it all. anyone got any advice i can hand over to him ?

Ram won't really matter (assuming DDR3 dual channel), just get as much as he can afford.

CPU should be i7 without a doubt

He could save some money going with a 8320 or 8350 but as said that entirely depends on his budget and what programs he is going to be using.

hi, sorry forgot to mention budget :facepalm:

he wants to spend 300-350 on it, that would be including jnust the mobo, ram and CPU.

i cant remember what programmes he will be using, but i do know its some professional one, and not just a simple one from download.cnet...
