When has he ever said / done anything to suggest that Man United would be his favoured destination if he were to leave Barca?

It's been mentioned many times in articles that it's believed Man Utd are his preferred choice.

It's also a choice of a team who are consistently battling for the title or Arsenal, who haven't been overly competitive in a decade. That's no knock on Arsenal, who are a great club, but reality. If Fabregas has sights set on winning a title then he'd be more likely to do it at United.

No chance he joins Utd at all. Wenger is nice and calm about the whole thing for a reason. He's just sitting and waiting until Fab decides he's moving, then taking him back.

His relationship with Cesc is not like most between managers and players. Cesc knows he owes his career to Arsene. He's gone as far as saying he's as important to him as his own father is. He would not do that to him.

Besides. he's not even being sold, so the whole thing is a pointless charade.

Please show me these links that he would pick Utd as his preferred choice. i remember he said he was a 'fan' of Utd once before a game but never have i heard him say that Utd are his team of choice to join

You try and sound confident but you've no clue in reality.

You mean like RvP relationship was with Wenger and he would never leave. And where does this claptrap come from he owes his career to Wenger. If Fabregas is as good as mentioned then logic says he should walk into a lot of teams no. So owing his career to Wenger is overstating it by a country mile or two.

I think there are few fans on here who are over egging the relationship side of things on here in the hope he doesn't sign for United

He's calm mostly because he rarely reacts to anything, and because he's not being sold NOT because he thinks if he is sold he can get him. Well okay that might be incorrect, he might believe Cesc would choose Arsenal if he left Barca.... because Wenger's a little stupid these days. Cesc wouldn't come back to Arsenal the way they currently are to win nothing... again. He's no different to RVP, its not disloyal to join a previous competitor, its sport, its a job.

he's Barca's second best player, has played as if he's their second best player for two years, Barca has no reason to sell and Cesc has no reason to want to leave... thats the end of it really. Even if Utd made a 60mil off Barca felt they couldn't financially refuse, unless they tell Cesc to GTFO, he would still turn down a move.

Its quite funny, the press have been saying Cesc has been playing poorly for two years, isn't first choice and Tito doesn't favour him so he might want a move, even though Tito and Cesc both said categorically he isn't for sale and doesn't want to move. Tito leaves... who supposedly doesn't really like Cesc and the papers interpret this as.... his chance of leaving has increased, sure.

IF it were actually a situation where the player was disliked by the manager and the manager left people would usually say there was less chance of the player leaving, but the press want to push a made up story about Cesc leaving so logic has no part in it.

The reality is he has said numerous times he wants to stay at Barca. And he will.

Yes, but that was in the past, who knows what may have changed? You'd think he was an Arsenal player the way some of you are going on. I mean bringing up that he thinks Wenger is as important as his own father?! Do me a favour. :p

If there was no chance, no chance at all, why would we be making another offer and it being made public that the offer has been made.

Seriously, the only people who know for 100% sure about any deal are the ones doing the negotiating, so there is no point speculating.

If Man U fail getting Cesc will Man U fans just boycott this thread? :p

Yeah no problem, if every other fan of every other team that misses out on targets also boycott this thread.

Will be great for you and Gilly, sitting here discussing Leeds and who they might sign.

It has absolutely no bearing on transfers i'm sure, but I wonder why Fabregas unfollowed RVP on Twitter this afternoon, right after RVP said he wants him at MU?

I know like 3 days ago counts as the past, but who knows what has changed.... errrm.... we all do, Tito left. Meaning as yet his position in the squad is as it was at the end of the season, since which he has categorically stated he wants to stay. IF a new manager comes in and specifically tells Fabregas he has no place in the squad, that would be a change that might make him want to leave, but he may want to stay and fight for his spot. But what chance is there of a new manager coming in long term and telling their second highest scorer, second highest assister, highest starts in the league outfield player he's no longer welcome.... 0.2%. That 0.2% is Fergie becoming manager, selling Fabregas to Utd, maybe Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Alba to, then quitting and taking over as Utd manager again..... but this isn't championship manager so that isn't too likely.

Maybe after a season under a new manager he might find his place in the team under threat and might want to leave, chances of this being known before the season starts.... practically non existant.
