Barclays online banking security flaw?

When I was trying to transfer a rather large figure from one account to another the online app (website and phone app) wouldn't let me. I could only transfer something like £2,500 a day.

If you have lost your card and PIN I wouldn't be worried about the online side, I would be more worried about them going on a spending spree elsewhere without being traced and get away with more money.

Yeah I suppose you can never have 100% security, but it just seems like having an additional password would be so simple and would prevent this kind of thing from happening.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree but I bet most of the population would prefer ease of use rather than having more security.

It would be great for Barclays to offer customers the option to increase what is needed to log into your account. For the people that are worried about the security of their accounts it would be great and for the people that just want quick and easy access without having to remember lots of passwords, well they can have their way too.

One of the toughest things is always getting the mix of security and usability right. Everyone has their own opinion so you will near enough always not satisfy everyone.

Yeah, I guess ease of use over security is what the public wants, I would like the option of a password like you say. I have my Nationwide one set to remember the 10 digit code for my computer, so it is no more inconvenience for me but offers that important extra layer of security against people trying to log in from their computer.
