If i update my import phone.. will i lose my international unlock?

My phone is a verizon phone from usa and to use it in the uk it was bought with an international unlock.

i dont exactly know what this is. My phone has just received an OS update but im am reluctant to install due to possibility of loosing the unlock

is this a possibility?

I'm not sure as to how CDMA unlocks work.

How does that work though. Does it take a normal SIM still?

If it's been designed to accept foreign SIMs, surely the update won't render that impossible.
 
its a microsim, im not exactly sure what the unlock is, i know i had to enable 'global' mode but there is something more than that too
 
i got the phone on ebay from someone in the USA, he stated it had an international sim unlock but that it would not work in the USA (hence why the price wasnt too bad)

im worried that an OS update may remove this as i dont know what it is or what was done to get it

i may try asking them, but i dont know if they would bother helping


At this stage im not going to bother its too risky
 
1. You bought a stolen phone
2. If it was a proper unlock, then a software update won't remove it. Of it was a hack job then the update your got probably won't install as the files won't match.
