Yep, only other attacking player we have been heavily linked with is bernard. Looks like a quality player but not the striker we need.

I think it will be one of these or nothing.

Arsenal need to pull out the big money and buy at all costs because if they don't, Spurs will beat them to 4th with ease if they get a striker (and keep Bale).

Bernard?? the brazilian player??. Yeh hes decent but i dont think he is someone we should be looking at. Plus we have tried a few Brazilian players and looked how they turned out ie Santos and Denilson....both of whom have finally left our squad:p.

Its actually a scary prospect if Arsenal dont sign a top class striker this summer, i cant see how we are going to compete for any trophies...we may get lucky and scrape 4th place like we did this season but trophies??...not a chance in hell unless Giroud decides to bang in 30+ goals next season:p

So if Arsenal dont get Higuain and Suarez then basically we are ****ed??:p...i havent seen us being linked with any other top/world class striker so far lol.

Wenger is on record as saying he has big plans for Giroud this season and with Chamakh and Bendtner returning from loan one could argue they shouldn't be buying yet another striker until they move some more players on.

Not sure if it was intended as a veiled slight on Rooney but personally I'd put him down as a top class striker we've been linked with. Villa as well but obviously that's a moot point now.

The way things are going with Suarez I really hope we pull the plug because of the sort of fees being talked about, I think we should be looking elsewhere if we've got our heart set on getting a striker. People will no doubt laugh but I wouldn't say no to Darren Bent who supposedly can be had around the £5-7m mark i.e. same sort of numbers being talked about for Gervinho.

Yep pretty much, we have the money to buy top players but even then it just doesnt look likely that we are close to signing anyone:(.

In all honesty we should have given Real £25mill for Higuain and get it over and done with but i dont know if it was Arsenal being idiots or Real being the idiots over the whole Higuain will he wont he saga.

Wenger and Arsenal need to realise that that top class players do not come cheap especially if they have a few yrs left on their contracts, its different if the player is in his last year of his contract as most teams will try and get as much as they can before that player can leave for free ie RVP last season is a prime example of that. But then equally teams need to realise that if a player wants out then its best to get rid of them for whatever you can get, as its not exactly the best situation for a team to have a player who isnt happy and therefore wont give his best on the pitch.

Sorry he doesn't want out 'desperately' enough to go to arsenal lmao, i'll have him in my sig in an arsenal shirt for a year if he does.

At 1st it was just RM true, but since no RM bid has been forthcoming its any CL club that he has been fluttering his eyelids at. He wants out and badly (you would have to be a fool to go to Arsenal though, zero ambition)

LOL pretty much the same as yours then??:p

Seems like it at the moment, zero transfer news re potential recruits (hell BR even stated the Armenian lad was our one and only), nothing about Popadopoulous (dodgy knee and they want to much cash). You think its depressing being an Arsenal supporter...!!

So desperate he has not put in a transfer request. Yes, I would reject £40million.

That's only because he doesn't want to lose his cut. He will try to get it done first without handing in a request. You can easily see a situation where that comes with little time to find a decent replacement. Haven't you been there before?

Not sure how much we'd be able to get for him and being left with Kone and Anichebe would make me cry!

Bendtner I would actually like it if he had another shot with Arsenal. If played in the right position and a good team supplying him I think he would surprise a few. Chamakh not so much. He is not a game turner.

We need a top class striker and now that RM have stopped moving the goal posts (excuse the pun :p) we now know what it takes to buy Higuain.

Would I want to pay that extra money to get Higuain, not really but the thought of starting with Chamakh as backup is a scary thought. If we get £7m for Gervinho then that £6.999999m more than we thought we would get for him so thats like free money. :p

Then after we have him lets get Suarez too to prove we have some of that ambition :D

If not then lets hope this new french kid turns out like Anelka(Without the agents)

I'm sure most contracts will state that if a transfer request is placed then some sort of financial penalty or no longer being eligible for bonus payments will happen. He won't do that but wants a transfer anyway. If Liverpool stick to their guns, refuse any transfer to an EPL team like Levy did with Modric then IMO he will still be at Liverpool come September. And he will still court controversy at some point this season.

Is this based on the fact that a happy Luis Suarez is a complete idiot and reprobate so if Suarez is forced to stay against his will he might be even worse.

Bender is a weird one, spent a season on loan to Juve but didnt score a single goal and seems to like getting drunk though then driving:p. If we can get some money for him along with Chamakh then id be happy with that as long as we have replacements for those 2.

If we are going to spend £40mill on Suarez, id really rather us give that £40mill to Real and get Higuain in as he doesnt have any baggage, wont drag our club name through the mud and will score plenty of goals. But i personally dont think Higuain is worth more than £30mill max so Real if they have upped the price for him are just taking the proverbial mick:p.

Would be hilarious if we did get both Higuain and Suarez this summer...but the way its going, we probably wont sign either of them :p

Folks on here certainly seem to know a lot about Suarez. Does he give you info daily. When you get your next update ask him to share the info with his club as well.

Paulinho
Chadli

That's a total of £24m spent to make it 19 registered mifielders for Spurs now and we still only have Adebarndoor and Defoe as recognised strikers.... Chadli looks a good player who can score goals, he scored against us home and away when we played FC Twente in the CL. He will provide much needed cover for Lennon and also free up Bale to play upfront, meaning we don't need to play Dempsey, Siggy and Holtby out of position. Not a bad signing I'm just worried how much money we have spent so far on area's we are currently strongest, we don't have a bottomless pit of money.
