which dated/old game do you believe best deserves a remake/reboot?

As already mentioned, H&D and FreeSpace 2 would be up there for me.

Also Magic Carpet, I'd kill to play that again with modern graphics; flying around spamming meteors at massive monsters, taking huge chunks out of the scenery and setting fire to vast swathes of forest.

Someone should also remake Populous using the From Dust engine.

I still like the Infinity engine. I'd probably rather have a BG3 in the original engine than a remake of BG2. Either would be awesome though.

Battletoads...in Battlemaniacs! Played this a lot on my snes (and sometimes still do), would be pretty epic to have a reboot, so long as they kept the ridiculously difficult levels :) (sort of spurn on by some false images of a remake a few years ago lol)

Dungeon Keeper. Every time. With the orginal voice and everything.

Yeah ive seen the remake in the works but i'm not sure about it.

Id also like to see a proper Baldur's Gate sequel. Not NWN/DAO but Forgotten Realms, Isometric top down like 1 and 2.

This might sound weird, but I say World of Warcraft. It's very dated, even when compared to Star Wars Galaxy which came out in the same year 2004. Characters on SWG had a larger polygon count and tonnes more customisation options, more in line with the Sims 2 which also came out in 2004. I lost interest in WoW partially because of that reason and also for being somewhat alienated in the expansions. If Blizzard re-did Vanilla WoW in today's graphics, then I'm sold. Then instead of expansions, roll out more instances in the vacant parts of the world map like how ZG and Naxx etc got rolled out.

+1 on that, kinda like Runescape are doing with Runescape old-school, bring out the vanilla experience for everyone to play, but in WoWs case bring it up to date.

I'd love to see a remake/sequel of the first Quake - they would HAVE to keep the medieval/sci-fi fusion though, if not lean more to medieval.
Keep it simple but add a few extra layers in the way of progression, some abilities (grappling hook was so fun) and perhaps a fleshed out melee system.

For people saying a Baldur's Gate sequel, they have plans for it after they've released BG2 Enhanced edition (assuming they solve the silly legal crisis they currently have).

As already posted by a couple of others, it would be great to see a new Star Wars TIE fighter/X-Wing simulator I used to love playing that back when I was a kid! :D

I also used to love the old Broken Sword games, would like to a see a new/redone version of those too!

Cannon Fodder /thread =]

Ah yes Cannon Fodder, it's remarkable just how much fun war can be.

I would like to see Tie Fighter remade, all my other childhood favorites have seen a remake, sequal or reboot in recent times (Monkey Islands 1 &2, Thief, Elite, wing commander/Squadron 47, Sim City 4) Tie Fighter is the only one missing.

Dues Ex. It is the best game ever made imo, and you can get it looking alright with a few mods, but a few gameplay elements such as gunplay and AI really need updating.

Failing that, I would say the Thief games could do with a few tweaks...an HD remake with some tweaked controls would be epic!
