which dated/old game do you believe best deserves a remake/reboot?

Other than other games in the series getting the same care and attention as the REmake on the GC I can't really say I want any kind of remakes. I love these games because of what they are, including graphics and often clunky gameplay and/or controls.

Quake 3 in Rage's engine, Battlefield 2 in Frostbite and Kingpin in any up to date engine are a few that come to mind for me!

The GameCube remake of RE1 is amazing and it should now be left well alone. It is a masterpiece.

Good call, it's one I don't replay because of the bugs and clumsiness.
Yeah, but it's just dwg, swg is very dated now and although includes aspects hardly seen since, in other aspects is very old.
It needs a proper remake. Get the original team on kickstarter, remove the Star Wars name and go for it.
CF3 only came out last year and wasn't very well received so I don't think it is particularly deserving compared to other games that no-one has taken a stab at lately.
Ignoring projects I'm already backing like Carmageddon Reincarnation and Elite: Dangerous, my votes we go for:
Remake: Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed. My favourite of all the NFS games (must be about 15 now), it is starting to show its age and a new version with the same focus on progression through the marque history on gorgeous tracks around the world would be most welcome. Could then add DLCs for other manufacturers perhaps (licenses permitting).
Reboot: Freespace 2. No need for a remake as the modding community have taken care of that, but a brand new game in the series with the same focus on storyline and combat would be very welcome.
Quake 3 with a full remake on the unreal engine 4 would be nice. Morrowind with a proper remake on the Creation (or better yet, unreal 4) engine would be great too.

One I'd like to see redone is Moonstone: Hard Day's Knight ( http://www.giantbomb.com/moonstone-a-hard-days-knight/3030-19285/ ), had a real blast on that back on the Amiga.
With Elite, Syndicate and Populous all having successors (spiritual or otherwise) coming I can't think of too many games that I think deserve a reboot. Assassin from Team17 maybe

Slim chance but I pray that it does happen or similar.
So for me an SWG remake, even if not Star Wars.
Freelancer and Desert Combat with no unlocks and what not.

X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, if only because the world needs more Star Wars flight simulators.
