USB issues really starting to get annoying...

I have 3 U2713HM monitors, all of which have USB3 hubs in them, 1 of them is connected to another, then the others plug directly into the back of my motherboard.
One of the monitors (the one that neither has a monitor plugged into it, or plugs into another monitor) has my keyboard & mouse plugged into it.

Whenever I turn any of my monitors off the USB hub within that monitor is disabled (a stupid design, but that rant is for another time) The main problem, is that nearly every time I change the USB peripherals (although more often when adding than taking away, usually the turning on of a monitor) my USB driver seems to crash, as my mouse & keyboard disconnect for 5-10 seconds (occasionally longer) before returning (although sometimes it doesn't, but can be fixed by turning off the monitor they're attached to, waiting a few seconds, then turning it on again).

I've tried re-installing my USB drivers from the ASUS website, however it doesn't seem to fix anything. Anyone have any ideas to how I can stop this happening?

is the driver at fault? or is the complex hub system you have going on? - that is what you need to diagnose first

maximus iv extreme (/z)?

Na, it's a P67Pro

It's possible it's something else, but I didn't think the hub system was that complex... One monitor has to go through a monitor before it reaches the PC, the other 2 go direct.

ah - i thought all three monitor hubs were daisychained off eachother and the devices were being plugged into the end hub
