A mix of RTS elements, Minecraft and that old SNES classic King Arthur's World, King Arthur's Gold is a somewhat intriguing little offering that doesn't remind me at all of a recently released game except with PvP elements. Granted, there's absolutely nothing wrong about the resemblance. It seems that there are three classes to choose from: the knight, the builder and the archer.

All three roles have fairly obvious functions. The knight's a melee combatant but he has the ability to point his shield upwards in order to turn himself into a conventional step ladder. The builder creates buildings and conducts mining expeditions. As for the archer, well, he just shoots things.

The objective of the game is simple: have more gold than your opponents. Obviously, this involves some petty theft and mining but it seems like you can also loot bodies for it.

Was just linked to this and have to say that it looks really rocking. I'm going to get a server set up (assuming you can do) :)
 
When I tried to connect , it couldn't authenticate, but that may have resolved itself .

Edit- It hasn't for me.
 
I noticed the dedi server download doesn't seem to have the correct IP for the master server. Trying to work out how to resolve that now.
 
Server now seems to be working. Can anyone connect to linktart.co.uk ? :)

I'll be arranging some proper games of this on Fri evening, but the server already seems quite busy.
 
Changes build 67-70:
- fixed memory leaks on map creation/restart
- can’t vote on self
- player being voted on is marked with red circle
- added message to inform about banning during vote
- all votes are sent to rcon admin
- increased game start to 2 players on team
- added “restartmap_onlastplayer_disconnect” option to game rules (gamemode.cfg)
- decreased max player name characters to 27
- fixed player names having leading or trailing whitespaces
- fixed spikes not removing stone if placed on background
- fixed broken outpost working
- auto-balancing: if teams differ by 2 players can’t switch teams freely
- /kickid cmd is done by player id instead of index (/players views id’s)
- added Admin menu to main menu (for rcon logged players to easily kick, restart map)
- lowered default “nearspawn_multiplier” to 2.2
- bomb range is shorter
- maximum 1 bomb can be carried by Knight
- bomb always kills (unshielded) in close proximity
- gold is always buried at least 5 blocks underground

I picked this up last night but didn't have a chance to fire it up.

Up for some games if people get a server going.
 
Any of you lot played this yet then?

I've only had a quick 10 minute shot online and just kept dieing for no apparent reason. Does look fun though, especially if we could organise a group.
