Eh..ahahaha...you cannot be serious. By the way, i'm a Leeds united fan, i have no affiliation with Man U. Sorry, but if your saying Moyes wasn't successful at Everton, you have have a screw loose. He did an incredible job there, you think that silverware is everything. It's everything he did behind the scenes that he's remember down there for. I know someone who works with Liverpool and he has nothing but praise for what he saw at Everton over the 10 years Moyes was there.

Maybe I just higher standards than you, in fact no maybe about it, I clearly do :)

Pfft, lol, or you don't have a clue what your chatting about. ;)

'Achieving' the status quo isn't anything to crow about imo, I don't consider that succesful, I assume you see the likes of Pulis of being worthy of getting the Man U job?

I'd be stunned if Arsenal offered £40m, nevermind higher, but you never know I suppose. What's their current transfer record? £16m~ on Cazorla?

I guess your best option is to hang on and see if RM actually want him, then you can maybe spark a bidding war, one that Arsenal know they probably wouldn't win, and there's the fact they're a less attractive club than RM as well. With this in mind they could swoop late for Higuain, but that ship seems to have just about sailed now.

They need a big name signing, this summer more so than ever. Who else would be available worthy of being mentioned in the same breath of the players they appear they have lost out on? That fact alone adds a good 5-10 million on for me.

I think they aren't bothered by the 'baggage' that comes with Suarez as they are willling to go 35 with him (they are also seemingly ignoring the fact the majority of their supporters don't wont him).

Being on the cover of Marca means the deal is half done. :p

Here’s the latest on the future of Cesc Fabregas as we await an official response to Manchester United’s second bid. Sky Sports sources understand the Spaniard is considering his position at Barcelona after being given no assurances over a first-team place. Barcelona are understood to be willing to listen to an offer of £35million but would leave any final decision to Fabregas.

From Sky Sports News. Fingers crossed. :p

The new Barca manager has a press conference at 7pm CET later so maybe he'll be asked about it too.

Per Mertesacker wore the number 2 shirt in our last pre season match, he usually wears 4 (cesc's old number) which obviously means we're signing Fabregas ;) :D :o

You won't be able to afford him once you've fluffed £55m on Suarez.

Ha, knowing Wenger's bargaining methods we'll start bidding in decreasing increments from £35m for Suarez now. Have United been linked with any other players other than Cesc and Thiago? Its quite worrying for Arsenal and United fans that all the other teams are strengthening whilst our clubs seem to be ****ing into the wind :(

Fellani and Baines have been linked repeatedly, Vucinic (of Juventus) has been mentioned occasionally as a replacement striker for Rooney. I'm just waiting for someone to link Luiz Gustavo (Bayern Munich) or Hernanes (Lazio.)

If the primary targets are unobtainable I did wonder if Utd might just decide to write off this season as a transitional period, let Moyes work with what he has and then go fro broke next year when Moyes has a clearer influence on transfers?

Bale, Baines, Garay, Modric, Fellaini and Cabaye, mostly.

Out of those (Bale aside) I'd want Modric by far, I guess he is attainable as well so maybe we'll go for him if we can't get Fabregas.

Bale is very much in crazy money territory and I can't see us paying that for him, but you never know.

Cabaye is okay but I'm not sure he's as good as people think.

I can think of some instances where I'd like Fellaini in the team but again, he's nothing special (just something a bit different).

Still quite a while to go though, so no need to be too worried at the moment. I wouldn't really want to lose Rooney and add nobody though, that would suck. I'm very interested to see what Arsenal do as they've got to splash some serious cash this window and will be very reluctant as usual!

I wouldn't say Modric is any more attainable that Fabregas, really though.

Modric was a Mourinho buy and Mourinho is not exactly flavour of the month there at the moment. They just spent a lot of money on Illaramendi and Isco as well so I can't imagine he is feeling massively confident about the new season at Real.

I want us to take a look at some Bayern players. They are another team that has bought player for positions they already had ample cover for.

No way is bale worth 85m, not for me anyway he isn't even half on Ronaldos level

surely his worth is determined by 5 factor's, how good the player is and their age, as well as how important he is to the current team and the length of contract as well as how badly the other team want him?

e.g. you could say no way is a set of speakers worth £7,000 but then there will always be someone out there who really values sound quality who begs to differ.

take a look at Carrol he went for £35m, liverpool at the time must have deemed him to be worth it otherwise they wouldn't of payed that much

Isco plays further forward than Modric, so no problems there, really.

Alonso has been out with an injury and isn't getting any younger either.

Modric played 52 times, with way over half of these being starts. They have - Alonso, Modric, Khedira, Illarramendi & Casemiro for the CM options, it's not like they are busting at the seems with so many that he can be let go, really.

I think he very much is, given his usual positions and how many players Real Madrid have in those positions, etc.

As above, it's a myth that people seem to believe. He very much plays a good amount of football for Madrid and with Alonso being 31 and umms and ahhhs over a contract it wouldn't be too surprising to see him take the lead role.
