pc for 500 quid or less

first time builder looking to spend less than 500 quid heres the parts im thinking of using any thoughts on this would be good. the pc will be mainly used for arma 2/3, bf3. can someone confirm that these parts will work together and which graphics card would be best

This is where my money would go. You'd have to check with overclockers if the motherboard has the right bios for ivybridge and I changed the case as I couldn't find the one you posted.

I have that mobo and it doesn't have the right BIOS which I found out the hard way!! Very easy to fix if you have a sandy bridge CPU handy? From memory I think you need the F7 BIOS for Ivy Bridge.

It'll tell you on the manufacturers website and also give you a link to it. :)

I like chris' build very bargain bin but awesome performance wise. :)

Chris could have cut more off by going the the wireless adapter and PSU RJC did.

EDIT: that B grade GPU has gone :(

EDIT2: and the HDD.

RJC's build is pretty identical to what I'd have put up. Overclock the CPU for big gains (though you'll need to add a proper cooler for that).

If you could add a bit extra to the budget it'd definitely be worth stretching to a 7850, all the latest games will gladly use the added power.
