I don't own a Wii U, but this is one of the games (along with Mario Kart) that makes me wish I did. I've always loved the Donkey Kong games. I bought Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed it. The animation was superb, and they're always addictive.

Looks good, loved the original and like the OP wish I had a Wii U to play this.

Walking around the house now with the theme tune stuck in my head and humming it lol.

I've got this on pre-order, looks like a solid game. Made by the guys at Retro Studios so 'should' be good.

Pre-ordered this along with Mario Kart 8. Hope this doesnt make me swear as much as the previous game. Those barrall blast levels really rubbed me the wrong way.

I hope to see the Wii U pick up some steam now that people are interested in some of the offerings in the not too distant future.

In HD this is going to look shweet. The original Donkey Kong Country on the SNES is one of my top three games ever created. Returns on the Wii was a solid platformer based on it's own merits but when compared, it's not a touch on the original.

Yeah I know, I was hoping they turned the franchise into a 3rd person survival horror zombie ape kind of game.

I did for Mario Kart

I've got Mario Galaxy too and keep meaning to play it through, but haven't switched the Wii on for months now.

I bought the Wii on release day for Twilight Princess, but my favourite game on the console is the original Galaxy. I got all of the stars in that game.
