Just had a new phone at work a S3 Mini.

Now in terms of smart phones I've only ever used iphones so its learnign curve.

One thing I can't see how to do is make it obvious about missed calls / text messages on the lock screen, the onlt indication I see is a small icon in the top left of the screen rather than the obvious ones you have on the iphone; how do you get these or something similar as its slightly annoying.

WidgetLocker Pro
TeslaUnread Plugin
Desktop Visualizer

Add a desktop visualizer icon to the lock screen, change widget image to what you want say gmail icon or something. The TeslaUnread plugin will then put a small number next to that icon. You can then set WidgetLocker pro to show whatever else you want as well as a unlock button or something.

Oh, just checked and I'm on 4.1.2

Bloomin android, why not just keep it simple to one OS for all.... like iOS (to some extent ;) ) (this was toungue in cheek to cause trouble!)

Depends how important it is, S3 Mini should get an update to 4.2 whenever Samsung get round to it, later this year apparently.

Try noLED maybe?

You can do it for free, bin off the stupid stock ROM and stick CM10.1 on it :D

Well, can't do that as its a works phone; I've been specifcally told by the IT dept to behave..... I'm the one with probably similar IT knowledge to them, even though I don't work in IT :D so they have to watch me (in good way!)

Well if its getting 4.2 in Sept I might just wait as I'll be off on hols for a few weeks so I can get by until then.
