I don't really want to cover this again, this isn' the time or place. I'm hardly an Evra fan, in fact he's a ****, up there with Cashley Cole, but Suarez is a bigger **** than them both.

Thing I've noticed the most over here (and seems to be creeping in more and more) is that it is all stats based performance, which is how they watch NFL, NBA & MBL etc.

The only decent fans I've met over here are English ones ;)

If Liverpool and Rodgers can get 25 goals in all competitions from Suarez this season and then sell him abroad for £30m (although if he gets 25 goals then he will still be worth £40m) I reckon they would take that rather than weaken themselves, strengthen one of their competitors and not have any guarantee of buying anyone who will get them 20 goals a season for less than that. Seems simple to me. Keep him and if he wants to play then he will play. After all he wants to go to the World Cup with Uruguay again and he needs to play in order to do that. If he's not a greedy ***** he'd put in a Transfer Request but he won't, cos he's greedy.

You could argue that he would want high end competition, i.e Champions league, playing against the best players in the world.
Liverpool would be nuts to sell him to Arsenal (their main rival for 4th).
Arsenal would be nuts to spend anymore than $40m on him.

I know Liverpool valued Andy Carroll at $35m..........:p but $55m for Suarez and his baggage?

In fairness the Andy Carroll deal was very much Newcastle saying 'Buy Andy Carroll? LOL! We won't sell him for less than £35 Million!' and Liverpool went 'OK!' and Newcastle couldn't really back down and it was 'quick, we need a Striker!'

Agreed about selling to Arsenal though. Same reason why levy Wouldn't sell Modric to another EPL team. No point making your competition stronger, no matter how much money they offer.

Arsenal are in negotiations with Roma over the sale of striker Gervinho, Sky sources understand.

The Ivory Coast international signed from Lille for £10.5m in 2011 but has struggled to cement his place in Arsene Wenger's side.

Gervinho has scored just nine Premier League goals in two seasons for Arsenal and could be offloaded to the Serie A side for around £7m.
The move, if it goes ahead, would see the 26-year-old reunited with his former Lille manager Rudi Garcia, after he became Roma manager in June.

Pleeeaaaaase be true!

Selling to Arsenal is the wrong thing to do. I don't care what Suarez wants, the clubs objective comes first and selling to one of our main rivals for 4th spot is like sticking a knife in our leg before a long distance up-hill race.

We keep hold of him for another year, let him throw his toys about and wave his arms around, I don't care. Even he must know that having a tantrum for 12 months is going to hurt him more than it will the club. And if he is that stupid, then so be it, we knew he had the mental capacity of a toddler when we bought him, the ball is firmly in our court.

Even if this wasn't Liverpool, I'd still want whatever club he was with to stand up to this crap and take a stance against the idiot.

Apparently, we(Brighton) are battling Ipswich for the Utd midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe on a season-long loan. Would be good, as central midfield is the place we need to strengthen the most. Can't go through another season of Dean Hammond!(starting for you next year pingwing?:p)

I only know the name from Football Manager 2010 tbh.

In other news, Oscar says he wants 5 new players before the start of the season.

So Rodgers of Liverpool is saying that Suarez owes Liverpool loyalty for standing by him...sure good luck with that, look at the loyalty RVP showed Arsenal when he finally got fit enough to play a whole season:p.

Joking aside i can see his point, Liverpool have stuck by him throughout his antics while playing for Liverpool. But i cant see him showing any loyalty to Liverpool, now the question is Liverpool can reject as many bids as they want from us but do they really want an unhappy Suarez. A Suarez who this season may not give you his best because he is unhappy and wants out??...a huge risk there imho because if it does turn out that way then you wont get much for him when you go to sell him.

You may give him champions league football he wont win it with you though :p

Yep but with him in our squad, our chances are still better than yours:p

+ I Dont think Arsenal will get 4th. Last year i thought you were lucky to get it in honesty

Yep we were lucky that i admit but that was due to the Spurs and their yearly implosion aka St Totteringhams day:p. But depends on what happens in this transfer window, if Spurs dont strengthen this summer then i still think even with the squad we have at the moment, we will still get 4th;).

Spurs just need a reliable striker, really. They should have Sandro back this season and they've now got Paulinho as well, who is meant to be a really good midfielder (haven't seen much of him myself).

As long as they keep Bale and get a striker (like Soldado - and he does well), I think at present they'd edge out Arsenal. Even if Arsenal got Suarez I wouldn't be sure they'd finish ahead of Spurs. Many factors to this though, like injuries etc.

Clubs are not charities and nor are players. How many clubs will stand by an average player when they are causing the club grief or are constantly injured. Unless they think he will be worth the effort and cost they will get rid as soon as possible. It just happens that most clubs won't be interested in a player who is injured and has been for a long time.

That leaves you with "club loyalty" when it is really self interest. Liverpools loyalty is only and I mean only due to the fact he is their best player by far. Loyalty would be standing by one of your fringe players after he had behaved like Suarez.

Loyalty and self interest are completely different things.

I guess only Liverpool themselves can put a value on the PR disaster if / when the player gets the club more bad headlines (and surely thats only a matter of time)

Only by being able to put a value on the above can you know whether its worth keeping him.

The amount of money involved in the top competitions makes it worth it let alone the fact that most fans couldn't care less if their star player is a complete ass. Listening to the liverpool fans on here over the past 2 years tells you everything.

If he can get them into the CL next season then thats already 30-40m extra in the coffers if they progress past the group stages. PL revenues are going up a lot. This is part of the problem. When such vast amounts of money are at stake then players that are capable of giving you the quality to take a larger cut of the pot of money are always going to be accommodated until their disruption outweighs their benefits. When 40-50m are at stake, how much hassle is too much.

Paulinho looked good at the confederations cup. I don't think it's a coincidence that adebayors best season was when he was with a quality player like van der vaart the number of goals and assists they got with each other was fantastic for spurs.
