New consoles to beat highend PC's?

So, have we high end PC gamers just wasted £2000 on our rigs?

I would fail to see how they'd a generation ahead architecture, I mean it's AMD's arch Jaguar which was released before Haswell.

And Jaguar's mobile, no one would be building a high end PC in the same market as Jaguar cores, so them being a new architecture there is rather moot.

this is the same debate as mac os and windows....

software written for a particular set of hardware (console/apple hardware) will seem to run better than software that will run on generic hardware (windows/high end pc), since they don't have to canter for all the hardware in the world and can customise and tweak for that particular.

Will it run better? yes... but raw power no...

Must admit I'm a fanboy of PC and Consoles, I just love anything that can throw a virtual car round a virtual track track regardless of the output hardware, I was just a little surprised that a £500 console could out do a £2000 PC.
