Is there no way I can get access to Members Market other than 1000 posts?

Maybe submit all my info to the mods, I am clearly not someone who is going to hit and run, I don't want to sell only to buy.

I am not a big forum user so making up another 500 posts would take months and I'm after some parts sooner rather than later.

The only way to get quicker access to the MM iirc is to post a picture of yourself with a loaf of bread on your head. That's what I did. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Either that or get spamming.

I don't have anything interesting to post so it would just be posting for the sake of posting, I don't want to spam the forum with crap, just seems silly how they put a high bar of entry.

Plenty of spam in GD and you'll get there. It does mean that when you get access you know the other people there are (almost exclusively) trustable. Problems are few and far between

Rules are rules unfortunately, If an exception was made for you, there would have to be an exception for everybody...

Why was the limit set higher then, it was 250 posts at one time wasn't it?

I understand you have to keep scammers away but 1000 posts is a bit silly.

Because it was too easy to spam 250 posts and start scamming? I don't see what the problem is. OcUK has no obligation to provide the MM service, they get nothing out of it. Setting a higher minimum post count serves to protect its users more. It can only benefit as a community by having as secure and trust worthy a MM as possible. If you need something quicker then there are alternative sources, e.g. eBay?

Well the obvious reason is to avoid scammers but now youve created a thread you can keep ~~spamming~~ asking why at least I suppose.

I never said I was entitled to it or anything, just wondered if there was an alternate way to get in.

eBay doesn't have what I want.
