I mainly play mid or jungle so looking into buying 2 champions for top or potention adc for ranked games. Is Aatrox good for top? Only played against people who clearly dont know how to play as him.

Aatrox is good tbh 50% win rate so he's not OP but I imagine that a lot of people who can't play top play him becuase "he's op" He's not op he's just bait he's a noob crusher. He does do a lot of dmg but IMO no better than riven or garen or wukong.

I played as shen VS him the other night, i could win every trade against him, he was an extremely unskilled aatrox, i'd pick riven over aatrox any day.

yeah shen has a 28% ban rate so he's a high risk pick to learn to play.

Elise has the highest ban rate of the top lane meta champs and that must be at high levels as no one players her in silver V/ IV.

I've been considering maybe picking up Zac, Orianna and/or Thresh. I did originally play a fair bit of top when I started playing the game again but that was because Darius was a free champ that week. Mostly though I'd been going Mid instead when I'm not looking to Jungle or Support. Zac is great fun as a jungler and the slingshot is a great initiate tool. Orianna I really enjoyed playing when she was free too and has real potential to dominate if you get good at her. Thresh I've had a few games on while he's been free and good fun to play. With a bit more experience using the hooks and using the Flay and Box effectively he is a brilliant support. Specially with the lantern to help out allies getting out of danger.

i play Aatrox top and i find him good, IMO i play him well but i found it challanging when up against another aatrox, we had different builds so he was good at start but then i over took him. it depends i do find him OP at times but he is also weak if he dosnt have the back up from the team which in most cases i never as they didnt know his macanics. the other dude's rotation was all wrong he opened with his jump first then slow, where as i do it the oposite and i find that a better rotation lol.

ZAC will be my next purchase I've nailed J4 jungle I want to master LEE and Zac next to give me some options when i'm not allowed to ADC or support.

Jungle is all about timing I seem to always bee in a better position with j4 than i am with WW or noccy

CD's obviously favour j4 and his mobility is probably only beaten by lee.

So yeah Zac for me.

My main champs are

Caitlyn ADC then varus or tristana occasionally graves allthough he's fallen out of favour with me recently I just don't like his mechanics like i do Varus and cait

Leona is my primary support then thresh or blitz if they aren't banned. I'm a pretty good bcrank been pulling people since 2010 to date my best ever was tower diving a vayne punching her flashing over the wall (purple side) and pulling her through to my waiting jungler bwahahahahaha.

Then J4 jungle as my back up I have others but they aren't as good for me in ranked. a few of the old champs need a rework but it's hard to think how they can be improved without breaking them again.

Heimer isn't 'wrong' for a mid but he is considered a troll pick in most situations. I have seen good heimers so I don't consider your pick to be a bad one tbh.

Had an awful set of games last night, I'm still really struggling to understand the team composition when selecting chars. Everyone jumps in and states which lane they want, pick the characters and I'm struggling to get to grips with who to pick.

I look at the already locked in characters and see 3 mele, 1 ranged and I'm left to choose a mid. I had the option of Garen, ashe, Heim, blitz or panth.

I repeadetly asked which one would be better and decided to gamble with Heim, which i got flamed big time for. :o

When i look at a team setup I dont really understand how the game is going to unfold, all I see is "mele/stealth, ranged" after I've clicked on the locked in champions and try to pick something thats missing, weather that be a pusher. Is that the correct way to go about it? any tips for getting it right from the beginning? Instead of picking the 'wrong' champion?

The only thing that matters is picking the champs you're best with. I got to diamond playing nothing but Vayne and Caitlyn. They're the only champs I have more than 10 wins with in ranked. Don't pay attention to team comps - that's for team games not solo queue.

If you don't have a strongest champ, just pick 1 and play it 100+ times. If you play 1 champ long enough, you'll win more games than you lose with it, which is exactly how you climb ranked ladder.

Are you saying that somehow it's not my team's fault that I picked AD Ziggs Jungle and fed 0/15?

I refuse to believe that practicing one role and a handful of characters over and over will make you better with them. That's like saying practice and experience matter when clearly I am naturally talented and should be in Challenger league, not Bronze 5.

Im going to assume your new to the game (bc if your not thats a massive issue) you need more champs bc only one of these is a 'true' mid laner.

i assume these arent ranked games given ur lack of champs and i also assume your not 30 yet? so fair enough this is stuff you just pick up over time.

if your sub 30 just play, none of those games mean anything apart from getting ip and xp. if your over 30 and playing ranked, I think you really need to look hard into why and how your playing this game tbh. Reading guides is normally a good start.

if you pick ziggs and go jungle and then fed - then yes thats entirely your fault and if that was ranked would probably lead to a warning/suspension bc it makes no logical sense in the game. (effectively trolling)
you cant possibly understand the mechanics of most of the chars in the game, and then be good at those mechanics....
so yes learning the mechanics in depth with a few chars does make perfect sense, and most people find their games improve massively.
