Hello.

I have bought a noctua nh-d14. I want to fit it but it didn't come with the splitter so I can't plug both fans into the motherboard at the moment. Will it be ok for me to just run the one fan for now until I can order a splitter cable early next week?

My machine is not overclocked by the way and im just using a standard AMD heatsink at the moment.

Thanks.

Yes. You could probably run it passive if you wanted and didn't mind slightly higher temperatures.

I have my center fan plugged into the Cpu fan header and the other one in one of the chassis fan headers, no problems.

Ok, I will look into this.

Just sorting the bits out.

I bought it second hand. I dont think I need half the stuff. I know some stuff is for intel. Im using AMD

All the reviews I've seen of dual fan coolers usually only show a few degrees difference between one and two fans installed. The fan in the middle is already doing most of the work as it's doing push/pull at the same time.

I often take off the second fan and use it as a case fan, especially if there's only basic overclocking going on.

How is the cooling now?

Brilliant man. CPU temp barely goes over 35C :) GPU runs at around 50C idle but apparently they run higher.

I tried to put the side on my pc and it fits but im not sure if there is mean't to be a certain gap between the top of the heatsink and the side of the case? Its a tight fit.
