Battlefield 4 Running DirectX 11.1 Could Give Radeon HD 7000 an Edge

So a AMD card with a 256bit bus and 2gb of vram in xfire is ok but a NVidia card is not.

Spoffle are you going to carry on recommending those 256bit/2gb vram AMD cards ?

I don't think he's ever said this. Think its time to stop now Kaap.

Feel like I'm missing something here - how did the whole 256bit/2gb topic come up in the first place?

To make a long story short. spoffle was whining about Nv 256bit/2gb being limited in the future, Kaap was like what about amd 256bit/2gb cards? then bla, bla, bla spoffle had no answer though.

That was short:D

It's bizarre how what card people have influences how they perceive things.

On what planet are AMD's 2GB@256bit cards comparable to nVidia's?

They're in completely different price brackets.

Kaapstad knows what he's doing, he's just resorting to strawman tactics yet again.

I must have derped all over the floor because the 7870's and 760's aren't really in a different price bracket, there's between 0-30 pound difference between them, and they're both 256 bit.

AMD's 2GB@256bit cards are in a completely different price bracket to their 3GB@384bit cards, and the argument from the beginning was "with all things being equal except memory bus and memory quantity, why would you choose the card with lesser memory and a smaller memory bus" in reference to a 770 versus a 7970.

A 760 and 7870 are in completely different price brackets, as the point was AMD's top end 256bit cards versus nVidia's top end 256bit ones.

So are you saying it is ok to xfire 2 HD 7870s and they will not have a problem

Spoffle you are busted for bias.

Yes he is bias but that does not mean its ok to continually put words into his mouth, he never claimed it is ok to xfire 2 HD 7870s or any of the AMD 256 bit/2GB card and there would not be a potential issue.
Its a question you asked because if he had made that claim then there would be no need for you to ask the question, because you could quote him saying it.

When did I say this?

What the hell are you on about?

Whenever you recommend an AMD 2gb card do you ever point out what you think are the limitations with 2gb, the same as you do with NVidia cards.

No you don't

Spoffle you are busted for bias

The 2GB AMD cards aint as powerful as the Nvidia counterparts :D

Wait, he can't possible use that as a reason?? We've been told more times than my poor little fingers can count GPU grunt and VRAM are not linked and causation doesn't mean correlation. I'm confused :p
