looks like soldado fee has been agreed and the sticking point now is how the fee is to paid. this has to happen today or tomorrow now ........ i hope :/

If we can wrap this Soldado deal up, hang onto Bale and just ship a couple of the fringe players out, then this will be a very successful transfer season for us.

come on levy. you can push this to £100m

Gareth Bale has for the first time this summer been backed into odds-on to leave Tottenham Hotspur amid talk of a world-record bid from Real Madrid.

Sky Bet have been forced to cut the odds on the Welsh star moving to Real Madrid from 5/2 to 1/2 due to a run of significant bets.

Spanish reports suggest the Spanish giants are ready to break the £80million world-record transfer fee set by their acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo by offering £86m for Bale.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal campaign last season, netting 21 times in the Premier League and winning both the PFA and FWA Player of the Year awards along with the PFA Young Player of the Year.

Despite Bale's contribution, Spurs were unable to secure a top-four place in the Premier League, meaning they are unable to offer their prized asset UEFA Champions League football.

The change in betting odds is in contrast to news coming out of White Hart Lane, with Tottenham insisting Bale is not for sale and talks over a new contract are taking place.

"Reports suggest that Real Madrid have now made their move and that Bale is unhappy that it has been swiftly rebuffed"
Sky Bet
Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer said: "The majority of bets throughout the summer have been on Bale remaining at Tottenham, but we've seen a sudden shift in interest in him leaving and we now offer 7/4 on him staying at Spurs.

"Reports suggest that Real Madrid have now made their move and that Bale is unhappy that it has been swiftly rebuffed.

"Our punters now seem convinced Real will get their man and Spurs will have to settle for their sizeable compensation."

Odds subject to change.

Fabregas deal is done too

Rubbish.

I'll probably get flamed for talking rubbish again, but Barca are making Cesc give a press conference at the Barca training camp on Monday to put an end to it once and for all, and announce his commitment to barca.

All these secret meeting reports are quite simply the biggest pile of cack I've ever seen.

Do you honestly believe that?!

£86m is a pretty ridiculous fee to start with.

Whoosh!

I think you should stop now, Rob.

I am absolutely staggered by the prices being suggested for Bale. Fair play to Spurs/Bale/Levy but Bale isnt a patch on Ronaldo and so for him to go for more money is just absolutely insane. Not to mention that Ronaldo had 3 good years before moving for that money whereas Bale has really only had one really good season (last).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say he's a bad player or a one a season wonder, I'm just blown away by the figures. £60m, fair enough in this market, but a world record? Incredible. For Spurs at least...
