Well theres a possibility of me having to have my gallbladder out due to gallstones. First my tonsils then my appendix now my gallbladder. I might have to lose all my hair and have my teeth removed yet, there will be nothing left in a few years at this rate.

Just thought I'd share and wonder what parts have you had removed?

I've had my gallbladder out. Despite being keyhole surgery and a day patient procedure, it was bloody painful to recover from. And I was in the hospital longer than a day ! At least I don't get the fiery burning feeling of gallstones waking me up at all hours the night anymore

Had a torsion of the teste when I was younger and was too embarrassed to tell anyone about it. Cue a few days passing before it got unbearable and we go to the hospital. I left it too long and it had gave up.

I've had my gallbladder removed as well. Thankfully my experience was better than Tauren's - for sure it hurts quite a lot when you cough or lie down/get up for about a week after the op, but compared to the pain of a bout of biliary colic it's nothing. I was signed off work for two weeks, went back after one week.

I had my appendix removed also, which wasn't much fun when I got an infection as a result.

To make up for it though I had a plate put in my wrist, so I've probably gained a little.

my gallbladder removal/recovery was brilliant. i had a sore belly button for a week and that was just uncomfortable rather than painful. i got off very lightly compared to other stories i've heard.
