Hi all,

Just a quick question regarding this ;

I've managed to apply it successfully to my i5 and I'm impressed with the results but what I'm not impressed with is how much is left in the tube ... that'll be NONE! I didn't use that much, almost a blob or 2 as it spreads out pretty evenly.

Is this normal?

Cheers

I've sent a web note to OCuk to see what can be done (If anything) If not, I'll email the manufactures themselves.

Used the ultra here and squeezed enough out to do 3 cpu's with a little bit left in the tube. When it comes to application with this stuff, the old adage "less is more" is very appropriate.

I literally used about 2 blobs mate and that was more than enough. Can't understand why there's none left. It's not like it can dry out!

I put down one tiny drop and spread it with a brush, not the one supplied with it but a slightly stiffer artist type brush i had. First chip was a 3570k, then an i7 930 in my second rig. A few months later i replaced the 3570k with the cpu in sig.

liquid pro is the best ive used to date,better than any paste

to drastically reduce temps you'll have to delid it

for a non delidded chip you might manage a 4.5ghz-4.6ghz before excessive temps will limit you

I was hitting 81-83c @4.6ghz an silver arrow cooler

Maybe ya get more in the liquid pro pack, i did my die cooler and both sides of the heat spreader, and it barely used any of it.

I don`t really want to go down that road, de-lidding.
I`ll see what the numbers are on the chip and check back in the other thread, to see if I have a good one or not. Although, I still have to hope my Psu is all right before doing anything.

if you can do 4.5ghz with around 1.2v to 1.25v then you have a decent chip,just depends on temps but d14 should cope fine
