Never heard of them but my uncle was telling me he uses his all the time when travelling.

He wears it underneath his T shirt around his neck and carries his passport money and credit cards with him all the time.

Seems extreme to me.

Does anyone here use one?

Cheers

easy:)

Money belts are the way forward, but only if you're carrying stupid amounts of cash or you're going somewhere dodgy or both.

Those passport holders are überghey and you look like a tourist from a mile away.

Not only seriously uncool, those good looking models don't pull it off, I imagine having a strange protruding device hidden under you T-Shirt at a Airport isn't the best of ideas.

Surely having your passport, money etc. hidden from site is better ? Having it hanging around your neck for all to see is just an invitation to scumbags which says, ' Please Mug Me !!! '

*EDIT* Or is the idea that you have it underneath your clothes ? In which case you'd need to do a strip tease every time you want access.

I started wearing one after my wallet got picked in Rome. Carry walking around cash on me and use it for passport/cards/extra cash.

Won't use it all the time, as it isn't the most comfortable, but if I think the situation warrants, then yes.

If for instance the hotel I am in has a safe, i'll leave it in the safe (depending on the hotel of course). If not, then I wouldn't leave a passport in the room. If you're keeping it on you, this is a way to ensure you don't lose it/it doesn't get picked.

I've used the second one - which you wear underneath your clothes.

It does look a bit ott, and you'll have to wear a baggy top to disguise it. Another vote for a money belt if you do want some more security. Or sew a zipped pocket on the inside of whatever pants/trousers/jeans you are going to wear.

I put my passport in my pocket when travelling and leave it locked in the safe when at the hotel. Wearing something like this makes you a target in some places.

I remember going to south of France few years ago and it was so hot I wore my stripy boxer shorts and flip flops and thats it. :p

I was camping...I had one of those waterproof waist belt thingys...When I was on the beach I would discretely bury it in the sand with all my stuff in it ,passport money cards etc...cover it with my towel and then flipflops and then go for a swim.

I'm thinking a waist wallet would be a much better option

Yea, don't buy those pouches, easily spotted and you are targeted like mad when wearing them.

By that I mean scammers will flock in and just pester you no end.

I use this if I'm traveling through busy locations:

Whilst is does look a little over the top, it easily fits in a wad of cash, passport, all my cards and other bits like keys. Sits under my top, every time I have worn it, no one has seen it.

Such as in Mumbai, I wore this all over and a couple of backpackers had said after spending the night out drinking with me, they had not once seen that on me. As I just put what I wanted to spend that night in my pocket.

Strongly suggest this pouch. It's not waterproof sadly, so if you sweat it does get damp, but just move it onto your hip on your side, very little sweat there.
