Dribble completion

Ronaldo: 39 successful dribbles
Bale: 54 successful dribbles

Defence

Ronaldo: 11 tackles
Bale: 24 tackles

Passing

Ronaldo: 808 passes (77% accuracy)
Bale: 833 passes (80% accuracy)

Crossing

Ronaldo: 7 completed crosses (13% accuracy)
Bale: 52 completed crosses (24% accuracy)

Dude, u can't use stats, that doesn't tell the whole story. Bale still plays more as a traditional winger.

I think you are right about Bale being better at tackling and crossing though, dribbling and passing - Ronaldo anyday..

Oh stats, stats say it all

I remember stats that said Nani was better than Ronaldo. They were right then too...

Please see the picture above, to show how stats mean nothing in football a lot of the time. Especially to compare players

LOL @ Bale being better than Ronaldo in certain areas. Not a prayer i'd give Bale better tackling than Ronaldo and that is all. 100M for Bale is obscene cash in Spurs fast.

cm1179....is that you?

So you avoid what I'm saying? I never once suggested stats tell you the whole picture on which player is better but they certainly help figuring out who's better in certain areas.

Pretty woeful you try to accuse me of being someone else instead of just staying on topic.

Yes, but what I'm saying is, you're taking the stats as the be all and end all for deciding whether or not a player is better at something than another player. And you can't see past them

I haven't taken them as the be all and end all, I've just said that stats help and not that they mean everything. In my opinion he does those things better, and someone at Real has certainly picked up on a few things he does very well if they're willing to pay these figures quoted.

Well when we questioned your logic in suggesting he was better in those areas, your only response was to quote some stats, so what else was I to think about how much you're looking into those stats?

If it's your opinion, why not tell us why he's a better crosser etc in your own opinion, rather than some stats

I don't know about that, if he goes for £100mil+ they could pick up a few world class signings.

Actually, that's the problem for Spurs - they couldn't sign a few world class players with the money.

World class players aren't going to come to a club without Champions League football. Spurs also couldn't afford the on-going wages of a world class player (once other players at the club start asking for the same wages).

And then there's the problem with everyone knowing that you've got £80mil to spend. Prices would get inflated and we'd end up paying £35mil for Andy Carroll.

I'd prefer to give some solid evidence over an opinion that will just be shot down straight away by the obvious bale haters in this thread.

The fact that your using stats for players in 2 different leagues invalidates your comparison.

And that's your problem, it's not solid evidence, they're not even playing in the same league for a start. Nice try though

Well there's another thing, Bale is playing in the more physical and demanding league with lower quality team mates. Funny how you don't bring up the different league thing till somebody else mentions it :p
