They possibly could but lets be honest, they havent got CL football so a lot of world class players wouldnt come to them if thats what they are looking for. We have a better chance of signing world class players than Spurs due to the fact we have CL football but even then, Arsenal and Wenger are showing just how utterly inept we are in the transfer market...still raging over losing Higuain because Wenger wants to save poor Suarez..yet we wont get him which is both sad and funny at the same time:p:(

Mind you Spurs remind me of Arsenal, all that money and still cant sign ****:p.

And Ronaldo is playing in the Champions league against much tougher opponents than Bale is in the Europa League.

What's your point? If you're going to make statements like that, there's a counter too it.

Doesn't change the fact the stats don't tell the whole story at all

EDIT - I actually didn't even see him mention that, too busy reading stats about how Vidic is a much better Rugby player than Toby Flood, because he made more tackles than Flood in a season. Different kind of tackles but stats are stats right?

Just getting silly now, saying stats mean nothing is ignorant, go fling some weights about or something.
 
Gervinho looks to be slowly making his way out of the Emirates to Roma, £7mill fee. Hopefully unlike the Bender deal that went sour, this one will go through.

Happy days as slowly but surely our rubbish players are slowly being pushed out the door :D

This is like the school playground.

It seemed quite clear to me that he meant that 'opinion' alone is easily dismissed. Which is hard to argue with, as this forum is full of debates based solely on opinion.

So he tried to bring some 'solid evidence' (numbers / facts) to the table, to back up his opinion. Whether or not you think those numbers/facts are valid is again up for debate.

Stats clearly don't tell the whole picture, but they aren't entirely irrelevant, unlike some of the childish strawman retorts that have been used to try and completely dismiss their relevance.

Anyway, as we were.... my dad's bigger than yours....

I knew exactly what he meant, he made a statement, backed it up with stats, to be told stats mean nothing, to then agree and then state he backs up his statements with solid evidence which had dismissed as not the whole story minutes before.

People make statements and then a discussion ensues. It's a forum for discussing and debating, nothing to do with 'my dad is bigger than yours' I don't see any of that here, I see a debate about 2 footballers in a football forum.

You must have gone to a weird school :)

Who hates Bale?

I used to because he was stealing a living as a defender, but he's been a revelation in more recent times.

I think people are scoffing at the amounts being banded around for him (and laughing at people that think he's better than Ronaldo) but no-one hating him (except his monkeyface and gay celebration).

Yes Wenger is finally listening to the fans and getting rid of the trash...but he must be deaf in one ear because he has forgot about the part we want new players to replace them :p

Sanchez from Barca is the latest rumour that we are after apparently. Dont know enough about him to get excited. Not going to look him up either to save my disappointment :p

Nobody in the thread has said he's a better player than Ronaldo, the amount being quoted for him though is totally retarded. If Bale sells for 125 million then how much would it cost for Ronaldo or Messi?

I read last night that Roma have to sell someone first to generate the cash? Hopefully someone is on their way out of Roma and Gervinho is incoming :D

I don't see how people can really hate Bale, yeah he dives a bit but he is class and kind of fun to watch, it is just the british media and spurs fans that are total spastics about him that is annoying
