Passport neck wallets?

What's wrong with putting stuff in your pocket like at any other time of year?

Have you ever tried walking through a busy crowd in Mumbai? Haha,...

I stopped for a second to ask for directions, I heard *click*, followed by a finger in my back pocket (nothing in it thank god). I turned around and a fat Indian woman was there saying sorry and walking off and a kid had bolted off as well.

I took off my bag to find the zip was pulled down slightly and one buckle was undone.

So yea, I would rather have my absolute essentials on me, against my skin, where someone has to physically lift my top up to get to it.

danger tourist alert.

you might as well hold them in your hand.

Accept it that no matter how much you try, you will stand out like a sore thumb as a tourist, this is not the problem. The problem is where your valuables are and are they hidden?

Lets face it...If you are in India for example...A westerner of any description will not blend in :p

EDIT: This would have come in handy when I was at Glastonbury...I had my normal leather wallet and although it was in the front pocket of my jeans...I was constantly feeling for its presence.:p

Surely having your passport, money etc. hidden from site is better ? Having it hanging around your neck for all to see is just an invitation to scumbags which says, ' Please Mug Me !!! '

*EDIT* Or is the idea that you have it underneath your clothes ? In which case you'd need to do a strip tease every time you want access.

My thoughts exactly.

Passport goes in a buttoned pocket or in a safe. I would rather shove it in tight boxers than walk around with a bumbag for your neck.
