Just listened to talk sport and they had the old Madrid president Calderon on and he said ronaldo isn't happy because of something the current president said to him when ronaldo asked about a new contract.

It sounds to me like bale is going to be ronaldos replacement

Even the BBC are on the bandwagon now:

FabregON. :p

There is no point to that story and its about a week behind the times. What is wrong with the BBC. Moyes has already said that we might make a third offer but its not guaranteed. Seeing how we have offered £30 million already for him, chances are pretty good that we will offer more than £30.75m which makes it a club record. Great reporting. Adds nothing, a week out of date and irrelevant to anything.

Ronaldo to Chelsea then? :p it's more likely..

Perhaps they have their own source that has confirmed it, they never once mentioned Thiago, which as you've said yourself (I think), could have been entirely made up by the rest of the press.

Speed wise they are fairly poor though, I think Sky are the most reliable press source for Cesc news at the moment as they called the bids before anyone else and they appear to have been correct.

Not so sure about that.

I think this is just a matter of time now.

Sorry, I wasn't giving you jip there, I was just wondering why the BBC decided to run with that story now. The BBC are irking me at the moment!

I still can't decide if I think spurs will let Bale go this year. I would quite like Levy (who I dislike immensely) to tell Real to bugger off. The way they conduct transfers with smaller clubs is downright insulting.

Going round the players for quotes, using Marca, getting their senior board members to tap him up. Absolute gimps when it comes to transfers. Mourinho fitted in with their ethos perfectly.

I'd rather Bale stayed, I don't want the PL to lose any of its best players really. I also think the top 4 race would be extremely interesting if Spurs keep their current squad and add Soldado.

If he's absolutely adamant about leaving though, Spurs are in a difficult position, given the large sum of money on the table.

On the flip side, I hope they do get him if it gives us any chance of getting Ronaldo back!

Calderon said Ronaldo wants around 600k a week for new contract lol , either he wants away and know Madrid won't pay that or he has gone insane

Hahaha, what a joker. For that amount I seriously would have to be able to take his first, second and third-born children from him to make it worth a punt.

Who has the current highest salary as a footballer?
In the 'earned' list Becks always tops it, but that's due to sponsorship's etc

I think you're underestimating what he's already on, and what Messi is on... what he'd get for signing a new contract this summer.

Messi is supposed to be on a deal rising towards 12.5mil net(with taxes at pretty close to 50% in Spain) before bonuses(and I'm going to guess 80+ goals racks up some hefty bonuses). So 25mil before bonuses is pretty damn close to 500k a week... before bonuses. He'll be on likely over 600k a week already, Ronaldo was on something like 250k when he signed with a pretty significant yearly rise that was supposed to be putting him on something approaching 500k a week towards the end of his contract. So you can expect Ronaldo to want something similar, why not, he's worth as much.

Firstly Ronaldo really is worth money for advertising, it might not be the 80mil a year Perez might pretend its worth(and a huge portion of the extra income from him being such a huge star simply goes right into Ronaldo's pockets anyway), but he's by far and away their best player. While Messi is indescribably important to Barca, I would say the next 3-4 best players at Barca are miles ahead of the next 3-4 players behind Ronaldo at Real.

With tv money increasing in La liga, in champs league, with Real's revenue increasing and with all their success last year hugely down to Ronaldo... why shouldn't he expect a raise from his current and why wouldn't he expect to be approaching the deal Messi signed?

Messi is supposed to be on about €16m / year which after tax won't be much more than €10m. Thats about €300k / week. Talking about paying someone double that is madness. There is simply no way that he is worth that much on his own.

this is from talk sport after the calderon interview

Ronaldo has been linked with a sensational return to Manchester United, and Calderon says there is a real possibility the 27-year-old could be on the move if he doesn't lower his wage demands.

"I know that he is not happy at all with the attitude and behaviour of the president. He is asking for €20million net every season which is going to be difficult for Real to accept," he told talkSPORT's Drive Time show:

“I think the president has all his eggs on the table just in case he can’t get the renewal of Cristiano. That is my impression.

the interview is on the talksport website to listen to now,it mentioned ronaldo was unhappy because when he asked for the wage demands the president said something like for that price we can get messi.

There was talk at one point of Ronaldo running down his contract and then basically telling any club who wants him "pay me a huge salary and a hefty signing on fee and we have a deal".
