Christ, United really did get RvP for a snip last year. Soldado looks handy but he is costing more than RvP at the same age.

I guess prices really are shooting up year on year.

RVP was in last year of contract but there is a kick in the teeth for levy; we were offered soldado for £10m in january. so, we could've got him for a lot less and probably got cl football too :/ atleast i feel he is learning his lesson.

i've just read about the £104.5m deal for bale too. hmm.

Meanwhile david moyes regales us with tales about how he used to sleep in his car

now maybe if he was found sleeping in fabregas's car to surprise him with a contract all could be forgiven.

But otherwise all is quiet on the utd front I think:/

If you get that much for Bale who cares about overspending a few million on a striker! I think it was more the concern about buying a 28 year old striker at the time who was perhaps a little injury prone but my favourite transfers are always when you get a bit of a deal.

---------------Lloris
Walker - Kaboul - Vertonghen - BAE
--------------Sandro
-------Paulinho - Dembele

Chadli -----------------------?
-------------Soldado

Now then. Where does Lennon, Holtby, Sig, Townsend, Defoe, Dempsey, Ade fit in?
We need a lefty really. If Bale goes for me its Lamela from Roma with the Baldini link.

Suddenly the squad looks epic. But god I want Bale to stay.

Really? didnt know that. haha.

Hmm not convinced by that £104.5m deal - Dont think Di maria fancies the move, not sure about Coentrao though. Still, the team is shaping up nicely and if Bale does move hopefully we can get someone like Lamela in to provide a bit of attacking flair as well as assists - I thought as a team we didnt play that well at times last year and were too reliant on GB being a matchwinner.

With a bit more balance in the team and finally a striker that can and will put them away (note, all of his goals last season were from inside the box) hopefully we can push on again :)

he's gone buddy, we should sell for that kind of cash. we need depth and we have it. onwards and upwards, keep the faith! lamela would be nothing short of epic but i think it's a heck of a long shot but roma could do with the cash from what i've read and we have the cash.

Ljajic from Fiorentina looks quite handy as well and we've been linked before.

Looks very good at getting the ball in/around the box and seems to have cracking close control

A big problem for spurs from last season remains. We have no creativity and now without Bale we have very little flair.

The point about 4 players needing to learn each other's game is huge. To me, that lineup screams of players having to work as a unit rather than relying on individual brilliance. Like the national team, we haven't played as a unit for years.

We can counter attack and score wonder goals, but we don't cut teams apart.

Step up Tom Carroll!

If Bale goes Di Maria won't get any significant games. They'll start most likely with Alonso or Khedira, the guy they bought from Sociedad alongside them, then Ronaldo/Isco/Bale across midfield with Benzema upfront, or Ronaldo upfront with Isco, Bale, Ozil, Benzema, Modric, Di Maria all competing for three spots for which Di Maria is unlikely to be first team.

SO I can certainly see Di Maria realising his time is up, people could say the same about Robben, VDV, Sneijder not wanting to leave but at a club like Real they spend big, play those guys no matter if they are playing well or not and are happy to kick big name players out of the club.

Coentrao wants out, the club doesn't want him, the fans don't like him, he apparently doesn't like it there, he's barely started 15 games a season, he's been poor, he's been found out and seems to admit no one wants him there so I can't see him wanting to be there either.

If its a 104.5mil deal and it doesn't involve at least 2 players in exchange... the deal will be absurd. As it is, I can really see Real passing this deal off as saving 45mil on a couple of players wages rather than getting rid of 50-60mils worth of players... but its still insane value for a guy who has a 5-10% chance of becoming as good as Ronaldo... and that is being really generous.

4 new attacking players, none of them having played in the Premiership before, are going to take a while to settle as well as get used to playing with each other.

Yeah I was thinking the same. This could either work out amazing for spurs or put them back a year.

But at least you will have a war chest to spend in January just like Arsenal :D

How do you think he would be a better fit, in footballing terms for Arsenal? Not the baggage, I'm curious what attributes of Higuains game would be a better fit than Suarez :)

As for not fighting the contract, why doesn't he do what most others do that actually want away and hand in an official transfer request?

Basically Higuain is a crap and overrated player, which is exactly what Arsenal's team is full of, therefore he would be a much better fit than someone who is world class
