BT Sport

I won't be paying that, they are overcharging to try and force customers into using their broadband. I'll just illegally stream your games and continue with sky, fuuuuuuuuuuu BT fuuuuuuu and your **** line up.

It's just ESPN re-branded, not exciting in the slightest.

I'm pretty sure my ESPN subscription was only a tenner a month, where does the other fiver come from? I'll still get it as I hate missing any televised games but can't help but feel a little ripped off.

Its got nothing to do with ESPN, ESPN bought a package for like 26 games or something , they lost that deal, BT bought the newer package, well two packages which overall give 18 of the 36 "best" games, it means biggest games as in City vs Chelsea, derbies, they may or may not be good, and another 20 games.

The ESPN football team, coverage, pundits, not involved. Its BT coverage, from an entirely new BT team, BT just also got ESPN's other coverage, ESPN don't have football any more(except maybe rights to show classic games?).

THe reason its £5 more than ESPN, firstly, its more games, there are more premium games, TV deals have increased in value drastically so winning the rights for next year costs a hell of a lot more than having a same sized package from the previous three years, let alone a smaller package. The overall deal over the next 3 years went from what around 2bil to around 3bil.

Considering the roughly 50% cost increase and considering they've got basically 50% more games and even ignoring almost half the games are premium games that were exclusively sky before, you'd expect based off the price BT paid to get the games, that the cost would increase by at least 50%.

In reality due to the current pricing of the deals, BT is offering significantly better value than ESPN was.

My current ESPN subscription via sky is costing me £12 per month. Subscribing to BT (again via Sky) will be £12 per month. The only additional cost to me will be the £15 activation fee. I'm not sure if that's going to be different for other people?

time to look at my package.

I pay £66 for sky

and around 26 quid to virgin for BT broadband and phone lol.

Get this for free since I am with bt broadband. I hope ESPN continue with their football programs. ESPN press pass is better than anything sky has to offer as far as football discussion goes. Goals on sunday and the sunday supplement are both pants.

Great deal for existing BT broadband customers to be honest.

I was thrilled with this news, added the BT Sports channels and ESPN to my sky package for free, and also able to stream all the games live online and on the app too.

Oh and HD is included for free for 12 months, but will probably cancel that come the 12 months is over!!

EDIT: Anyone know if the BT Sports channels will be added to the multi-room boxes too?

Is HD not free with broadband full stop then, because the are advertising it as £12 a month and £3 a month for HD but its free for the first 12 months if you sign up before a certain time. Are people sure the HD free thing also applies to people with broadband?

Meh, honestly sd is so horrendous I'd probably pay the extra £3, but it seems ridiculous, not least because I'd be paying Sky £10 a month for hd, then paying again for 2 channels of HD, its all a bit silly.

This is a lot better than expected, I had assumed you'd need a BT box or have to stream via the internet, but I can just add it to my sky package for free as a BT Broadband customer.

Only thing I'm a bit concerned about it is says it starts a new 12 month BB contract, and I'm currently in a free period (1 month into 6 months free). So the worry is if I sign up their systems will wipe my existing free deal and start charging me for broadband. Will probably leave it until just before go live (1st August) before signing up - also might mean the free HD stays active for longer (i.e. concern is if you sign up now maybe 12 month free HD would run out in May).

My Order States "The BT Sport Pack includes the BT Sport HD Pack free for a year, the BT Sport HD Pack is £3 a month thereafter "

I'll probably get the package, not just for the footy, but for the UFC which I'm a big fan of. As long as ESPN keep the UFC fights then it'll make the (eventual) £15 a month worthwhile for me.

WTF? Flicked over 6 minutes ago, had 5 minutes of adverts, 1 minute of Hargreaves talking who sounded like a Leprechaun and now another ad break

Edit: Picture quality sucks giant balls as well on Freeview.

Annoyed that they're pushing Claire Balding front and centre, but other than that, not too bad.

Can you only watch the web player on a PC if you have BT Broadband? Because that sucks. I pay the money to subscribe to it, I should be able to watch it online.

You need a BT login, which you should have from signing up, to watch the web player. Try it. You don't need BT broadband itself.

There's an app and stuff too.
