High speed brake vibration

My Mondeo seems to vibrate the steering wheel quite a lot when I brake from high speed such as 70mph. What is the cause, would it be brake pads? The front right wheel seems to squeak but when brakes are applied it stops.

Could be brake deposit on discs, suspension component, bushing, sticking calliper. Impossible to diagnose from your post.

Unlikely to be the pads themselves, more likely uneven pad deposits on the discs or run out on the discs. Worn wishbone bushes will make this worse.
 
How old are the discs and pads?

Likely to be some kind of pad transfer. First port of call is to do 6-7 stops from 70-20mph. The brakes must get hot to clear the deposits and smelling the brakes is normal. See what happens from there. Ultimately you may well need new pads and discs, but it's always good to go from the cheapest option to most expensive!
 
The braking from 70-20 helped and I smelt quite a lot of brake disc. I will change the pads first as the right one is squeaking. However I have noticed that it squeaks when I steer right, and once I centre it stops.

It's worth repeating this process a few times, if you've noted an improvement already it points to lumpy deposits on your discs. but also ensure the breaks are not cold before you do it, you need to get a little bit of temperature in them first (half an hour of stop start town driving) so you don't thermally shock the discs, which can knacker your disks.

I did let them warm up. I was driving around an hour. There is a slight shuddering when braking, it's like the brakes stick on, let it go a little, stick on, let go. It's not too apparent but definitely noticeable.

Cool, then repeat the process a few times, allow the brakes to cool down in between or even do it over a few days.. If you've already noticed an improvement and you have uneven deposits on the disks, it might well be a case of re bedding your disks and pads. The trick is to let them cool down before repeating the process, but obviously make sure they are somewhat warmed up before starting again.. . Stamping on cold brakes will damage them and you need to do some fairly harsh braking for this to work. After you do this do not come to a standstill or sit with your foot on the brake as you will undoo the conditioning, they need to be allowed to cool.

As someone else said, a lot of people replace pads and disk to fix the problem, but it's worth making sure before you drop a load of cash on new brake components.

Edit : you will get some smell from the brakes.. It's normal.

i bet discs--> calipers in that order had in in 2 cars old discs each time..
