165mph "ill still be driving catch me if you can"

The car being built for those speeds is only part of it really, if the driver doesn't have the skill or experience for it then the car isn't going to save him.

Wonder why it took two years for it to get to court.

Going from the name its some spoiled middle eastern kid with a rich family indeed.

3 years ban is lenient for doing 165mph.

Is it though? Say that had been you in a fast car on an empty road. Lessons can be learned without the imposition of an entirely arbitrary ban.

I would have said a 1 year ban would be enough but if caught again at such speeds a much tougher penalty would be imposed including jail time. Sadly our justice system doesn't work like that.

I'm using human common sense here. Had that been 9am on the M25 then I would say 3 years would be lenient and prison time necessary. The fact is it was on an empty motorway at that should be taken into consideration irrespective of that fact that speeding is breaking the law.

Having a fast car doesn't give you a bypass of the speedlimits.

If I had a car like that I'd save it for the track, not whizzing into the wind by doing that on the motorway.

He is a tool and needs a slap for his boasting and rules are of course rules. But he was taking the middle lane on an empty motorway with a car built to go and stop from those speeds. I have seen worse incidents on any Police stop show where some dickwad races his Corsa through a housing estate at school out time surrounded by other people and gets 200 quid and 3 months so to me it seems like the whole 'speed' lobby are making a point with this one. As I say I don't condone it and he does need a proper hiding for his lack of respect in my books.

What he said.

The guy's blatantly a complete twazzle, but all this 'danger to others' stuff is hilarious.
He was on an empty motorway ffs.

Well there was that chap, driving on an empty motorway, who lost control, crashed off, ended up on a railway line, and killed lots of people on the train.

Different situation, he was tired from being up all night fapping, but none-the-less, he is a danger to others at such speeds, as he isn't on a track. Probably should be a few municipal tracks around the place so these chaps can race it out, kill themselves by going offline, and then no one gets offended, just have it in the TOS that you've you pay from your own clean-up, so make sure you insurance is in order.

As for his statement to the judge, 'I will still be driving', I see that as quite serious, in a court of law he had admitted he plans further offences, if he is caught, he should get a harsh punishment.

My old man got a £3,000 fine for doing 89mph on a 60mph road in a car designed to operate comfortably at double that speed. £500 is an insult.

The guy's cheek is regrettable, clearly he is a tool, but it's an Audi R8. It's designed to operate at warp speed. I had another three paragraphs typed out, but deleted them. I'm guessing the speed limit debate has been done to death. :)

There's an exception to virtually everything :D

I agree that if you're gonna go at that kind of speed, you're going to drastically increase the chances of **** happening.
We can play 'what if' all day long :)

And imo, unless there's some legal issue preventing him from taking immediate action, the judge was stupid to have let him walk out after saying what he said.
Can we partly blame the judge if this guy ends up causing an actual accident?

Think we should start to trial unlimited speed limits around the country on our motorways. Seems to work in Germany fine.

As a motorway warrior, I think that is retarded. There are enough morons out there with no appreciation for speed as it is. Lets not give them carte blanche to do silly speeds in their **** box cars. :)

Hmm well when i look at that video. There is ONE CAR there...
So what that hes speeding let him kill himself. At lest hes not doing 100mph around city with people kids and ****...

MooMoo444 No you would not.. I dont think you know how much track day in car like that costs. Ask Gibbo how much he spends on them track days on brakes tyres ect ect....

I bet they been flying in that helicopter wasting fuel and noticed that chap speeding. Did not give him warning or anything just recorded driving. Then showed him tape...

Like You say in Germany ppl do 140mph+ on autobahns all the time and they dont have more accidents than in uk do they ?? Cause people go for a blast on high speed road not do stupid **** in city !!!

f I had a car like that I'd save it for the track, not whizzing into the wind by doing that on the motorway.

Virtually everyone who owns cars like this have done this at some point, just this idiot got caught... not sure how, I bombed passed a few panda cars and they don't even put on their blues, not seen a chopper make it either.

Still, the arrogance of this ***** is ridiculous.

edit: ***** is a swear word?!

Loads of ££££

Most likely his head his up his own ass

if he does get caught again and they lock him up he'd better take his head out before Buster puts something else up there. It's a shame that the judge didn't have the rights to reopen the case and lock him up this time simply for his attitude.
