I need a copy of a letter from the jobcentre stating what benefits I currently receive. Does anyone know if you have to send out for them or can you go to the local job centre and pick them up. I'm hoping they would have all the necessaries on computer.

Also, can they sign documents. I need all this tomorrow to register myself on a course.

I don't see why not, the letter that gets sent out is just a very plain sheet with the header and a sentence stating the benefit name you are on. Would take them 2 seconds in the job center to check the system and type it out.

Could always phone and ask then if they do then they can have it ready for you to pick up instead of hanging around.

I'd phone your specific job centre (not the switchboard) and speak to someone, you should also go down in person, but if you can phone first do. Really depends on the person you get to speak to.

The people on the course will need evidence of your benefits, but in extreme circumstances they might accept a bank statement where you can see the benefits coming in, as that's still evidence, ultimately they just have to provide proof to an auditor/funder who would probably accept that but they would have guidelines of whether they can do that or not.

you're expecting help off one of the front desk monkey's? you'll be lucky if your jobcentre is anything like mine. no matter what you ask you'll be given a phone number or website to visit. there's no chance of speaking to any human face to face these days.

Your after a benefit entitlement letter which are system produced and only processors can issue those who work in the benefit processing centres and they are by 2nd class post. You MAY get a nice JCP person who wont mind typing up xxx is entitled to xxx since xxx to present but not a breakdown. Good luck but either way dont leave it till the day befote next time.

Couldn't help it, only registered today. The course don't start till October, but I've got to get the stuff in by 8th Aug.

If you still have the letter sent around mid February notifying you of the increases in your benefits, then that should be enough evidence but if you was referred by the jobcentre (I'm not sure if that is the case here) then the referral letter you got would be the evidence you need (I was referred onto a two week course a few weeks ago and the letter I was given was enough evidence for the place I went to for the course).
