htc one or galaxy s4

To be honest, both are great phones, I would go into a store OP and have a play around with both, then decide for yourself which phone feels more right for you.

I have recently been in this situation, and every comparison review that I read had the htc one as the better overall device - I tried out both and went for the one because, tbh, I didn't like the look and feel of the s4

the only advice I can give is to see them/try them out first hand and see what tickles your fancy - I'm sure they're both good enough!

I've just been reading the thread and I'm now confused as to what to replace my htc One with another One of S4.

I dropped my One on Wednesday and sods law it landed face down in the gutter, I've got a nice crack right across the lower half of the screen and a couple of dinks on the bezel :(

I was thinking of replacing it with a s4, I suppose there are good and bad to be said for both. I've had the last 4 htc's maybe now is the time for a change

I have a S4, HTC One and a Blackberry Q10.

Between the S4 and HTC I would get the HTC because I like the feel of the phone compared to the S4.

my head is telling me to go for the htc but just feeling to go for the s4 , I got a about a week to decide so ill keep checking reviews sites and read up on both of them

don't read too much into the review sites as they often get 'wowed' by the gizmos and tech in the handsets rather than the real life usability.

I initially bought the HO, then ended up thinking i was missing out on something by not having the S4, so sold the HO and bought an S4, and was totally underwhelmed, so bought another HO and run them side by side for a few weeks and ended up keeping the HO.

Very true, but the HO memory is unified. If you stick a MSD card in the S4 you could run into confusion / difficulties as to where stuff is stored or installed to.

I like the fact that when i plug it into my PC i am presented with just a single 'drive' to manage.

confusion? - :o

Stuff is always installed on the internal SD.

What i was referring to is the fact that when you plug into a PC you get presented with 2 'drives' to deal with. Yeah i know Android is very good at consolidating information, but its nice to just have one lot of folders to deal with (IMO of course)

I get where you're coming from, and see the positives of removable storage, but how many people end up sticking a 16 or 32gb card in there and never remove it? Quite a few i bet.

32gb is fine for my use as i use DropBox / Google Music / Google Drive etc so have pleanty of room.

I was in the same situation, having been a iphone user for 4 years i went with the htc, glad i did as ive had a go on the s4 and the htc for wins hand down, everything about the htc is better in my opinion.

I not fussed if it's removable or not, but it's a lot cheaper when it is in sd-form.

I love my HTC One. I came from a Note 2 and don't miss the SD card at all.

The thing with the SD card is that you can't really use it for anything much. Most apps won't install to it unless you root, apps like Play music and Spotify won't cache to it etc.

I think the biggest benefit of SD card is the ability to store lots of music and videos on there, atleast for me it is.

Anyways for OP, best you go check both out in store and then decide.

Store plenty of music/videos/nandroid backups/pictures/Ti Backups/Cameras taken by camera

You can store all of GMusic's cache on their too by creating a shortcut to it using Rom Toolbox :)

I rather have one than not.

Removable battery on S4 - spare comes handy
Wireless Charging on S4 - very convenient for bedside.
Great camera
FAST!
