7970 Crossfire (new) getting stuttering in Heaven 3.0

Hi there, finally got my 2nd 7970 installed and I am getting stuttering during a run of Heaven, whether at stock clocks or with a mild(ish) overclock. I have the newest beta drivers installed. What is getting me is the sound is also crackling/ stuttering as well when it happens and the fps does drop (albeit only for a fraction of a second). Any ideas?

I use Trixx although it is doing the same even without Trixx running and with the clocks reset to stock. I will try take a video on my phone, but unsure if it will pick up the stuttering and/ or sound crackling.

Tick disable ULPS in Trixxx or afterburner. Restart your pc then run the bench again.

Cheers, ulps was off. Seemed to solve it by switching off and reseating crossfire bridge. Heaven seemed to work ok. Got a crash/ lockup while trying the cards at 1200/ 1600 though. Cards are under water and temps and vrm temps are about mid 40's during load. Was trying it with 1212mv - perhaps need to put a bit more through it to sustain those clocks.

Me too, saving up ATM.

I've downclocked my cards in BF3 as I get better usage from them but the same framerate.

Will see how I get on and experiment. Hoping that the 920 wont be a huge bottleneck, but will just have to wait and see. Had this x58 system for best part of 4 years and its been a trooper but I fancy the sata3 and usb3 as well as the general speed increases. Would pull the trigger just now (if I could justify it to myself lol) but loathe to strip down system again so soon.

Yeah, think it might be bottlenecking it slightly tbh. Will have to put it up with it for a few months before I go haswell though i think.

You may be better off upgrading to an IB-E i7 4820 when they launch. It should overclock better than the Haswell 4770k.

Was the 4770k that was interesting me, but will defo look in to that. Not in a great rush tbh. Still at the research stage. Probably looking at towards end of year/ start of next year for my big system upgrade anyway. Think 7970cf should do me for at least 12-18 months hopefully!
