Gaming furniture, workstations

Bought a large desk from ikea 4 years ago, have moved a few times since then so it's been taken apart and put back together at least 3 times, it's solid as a rock. It has excellent cable management built into the legs as well.

EDIT: Just found it, it is deceptively big, http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40111124/#/80115988

Trouble with IKEA is people buy the cheapest option then moan when the items start to deteriorate, spend a little more and most stuff there is very high quality.

Yeah this is pretty much it, decent range ikea do actually.

I'm really struggling to find a new desk. I've looked everywhere locally and they all seem to be really small and very expensive!

I think I may have to resort to ebay.

most of the ikdea desk stuff is modular and they sell case holder things that mount under the desk but keep the comp off the floor , all sorts of different cable tidy solutions etc

I'd personally get a gallent top + the metal adjustable legs

1,500 sold so it can't be that bad. I really like it in this colour to:

Second hand solid wood kitchen worktop from eBay or gumtree, then screw it to the wall. Finish with a leg or two and some cable management. 100 quid for a very attractive fitted desk.

Dimensions im easy on I would like the L shape if I can, just for more space to hand, I think maybe ill go the basic workbench style, and maybe add some stuff to it, we will see. I have to make room for 24'' screen, pc, kb and mouse, mat joystick, laptop and associated paraphernalia that will accumulate.

A big plain L shaped desk you can add stuff around...

I bought a Galant desk from Ikea probably 10 years a go now. It easily takes two 24" monitors and all my accessories and my legs up on the corner part. BIG, strong and simple and a few different versions thereof : http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S99806947/

You can find some bargains on the bay, but generally speaking you want a huge desk, which ikea do well. My mum picked up one of those chairs that has vertebrae and rolls to the side when you lean over (saw on in the gallery thread here) for £140, when they go for £600 new. Bargains can be had if you know what you're looking for.

I imagine it would attract dust easily. I've not had a glass desk before as I don't trust myself not to drop something on it.
