I want to build one of these for ~£350. The first one is a little over budget. Which would you go for?

They both have the following in common:
Kingston Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Kingston SSDNow V300 60GB Solid State Disk
Asus GeForce GT620 1GB Video Card
Cooler Master Force 500 ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair Builder Series CX430 Watt 80 PLUS Bronze PSU

1)
Intel Core i5-4430 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus B85M-G Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Total: £409.92

2)
AMD FX-6300 Processor
Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard
Total: £357.89

Would you recommend changing any of that? Thank you.

If you go with the i5 you can use the iGPU and forget the GT620 I believe?

Correctamundo

What will the main usage of this PC be? Because you won't be doing any gaming on that I can tell you that for nothing.

Last time i saw a ASRock FM2 thread was over at overclock.net with reports if them blowing up.

I had an ASRock board once. No wait, I had two. An 1155 and an AM2. They both caught fire.

I'm sure I was just unlucky, and I shant say anything against ASRock because i'm sure they have fixed these issues... But i'm never buying one again.

Okay so removing the GFX card from the i5 build brings it down to ~£377.

Now the question is whether the FX6300 with GT620 or the i5 with iGPU has better graphics?

Thanks :)

I have a fx6300 and to be honest, they are outstanding chips and can overclock to the moon!

But again you need to tell us what you want Toro with the pc first :)

My dear friend, you caused the 1155 Fire ;)

So it'll be used as a home office machine for internet, word, excel and watching movies. Maybe a little bit of media encoding.

I heard about fires like that too, was looking at one for my 1155 build but that put me off, though appearently a lot of reviewer raved about their Z68 boards.

I guess if your room/office is cold..

Roughly equal I believe, should be fine for watching video's, but hopeless for 3d games.

The A10 spec would have far better graphics, but the CPU is not as good (but more than capable of the things your planning to do).

If you are not doing anything to demanding I would prefer a AMD APU as Potty27 has said. They have pretty good GPUs built in. In day to day tasks, such as internet browsing or word processing, it's unlikely that you will notice a big difference between a i5 or a A10 in terms of speed but the better onboard graphics will be more noticeable on the APU.

Its a worth a note if you are interested in saving a few £ :)
