Design my Scottish Hollyday

If you can't find a hotel to stay at have a look for campsites that have wigwams or caravans to rent but you will still need a few provisions.

If you want to consider that I have a few recommendations.

I would not be adverse to staying in a rented caravan for one night and it wouldn't be hard to stuff a few duvets in the boot!

A couple of places look for places with wigwams and caravans:

I have stayed at a wigwam here:

Had no problems.

I have camped here a few times but they do have caravans, some awesome views to be had:

And I have just booked for the end of august here:

Though it does seem that some places might want a minimum of 2 nights booking and of course it's always possible they're booked up too.

this is what you want to see

Very nice. I'm going to be travelling up the Sound of Mull on my way to South Uist from Oban next Saturday. Excited :D

Staying in a Big Chief wigwam at Loch Ness :D

FAO Skyfall: What will we need to bring ourselves to the wigwam? Just a duvet or do you recommend anything else?

I'm going to assume that you're joking.

I spent five years living in Edinburgh and used to walk all over the city late at night to visit friends; in all that time walking through Niddrie, Greendykes, Leith, Wester Hailes, Sighthill etc. I never once felt threatened (and I'm not a particularly imposing looking guy). I don't know, maybe I was just lucky?

Actually to be fair, I did have one moment walking back through the Meadows on my own from a night out in Grassmarket where a couple of guys came out from behind a hedge and stood in the middle of the path blocking my way past. I just kept walking straight at them looking the one closer to me right in the eye, and just when I was coming within touching distance and thinking "I better get ready to fight or run" the pair stood aside and I walked by them. Kinda weird, but probably just a pair of chancers trying to scare folks for lulz.

Aberdeen on the other hand is freaking rough; not spent nearly as much time there (thankfully), but I've got plenty of mates who have been assaulted whilst trying to mind their own business. Rough city, much more dangerous than Edinburgh (at least from my limited experience).

Never had a bit of trouble here, touch wood...
