*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Is that a guess?

Also I always wonder how these 3rd parties make bigger batteries without increasing physical size - just seems odd/dodgy.

Also meh to NFC from me.

Samsung rep in Westfield store told me this a few weeks ago when I was shopping in the area :)

El1te - I noticed going by one of your previous posts in this thread that you had to send your S4 in for repair to Samsung not long ago, what was wrong with it out of interest and what was the turnaround like?

Thanks - Liam

Quick question that I would really love to have answered...

Is there a way to get an attractive circle battery (preferably like the CM10.1 version) percentage battery on the google edition ROM?

Eventually ditched foxhound for good ole Wanamlite that served me so well on the S3

I like flashing roms as much as the next guy but foxhound was just too much and there wasn't much info out there when I hit problems
I was using the 3minit framework from the foxhound app 3.1.1 If it's not compatible it shouldn't be in there

Gave my notification area the PA treatment:

Those of you on PACMan, you can slide your finger across the above page to flip between tiles and notification (same way you slide through home screens). Has a revolving door animation.

Thats a PA feature:) personally my favourite feature I think is sliding your finger across the status bar to adjust the brightness. I use that a lot lol

Cool I knew the dev didn't implement it but didn't know which ROM it was from.

Yes I love the status bar brightness too - back when Samsung implemented on the GB SGS2. Must have feature.

Hi Liam, the phone was overheating too much to the point it would turn itself off in what I can only assume a safety measure to try and cool it down. I sent it to the Samsung repair centre but they said the phone was rooted (even though I cleared all root counters, which makes me believe there is actually a hidden counter somewhere that devs haven't found which is still showing a root count).

In the end the motherboard needed replacing so it cost me £50 to do. It took only 2 days to fix so was pretty quick!

Just goes to show how different peoples uses are, I don't think I've ever once used the slide to change brightness feature and I counted it as one of the most pointless features :p

Flashed to FH 1.4 and the 4 way reboot option has disappeared. Is there anyway to get it back?

Yep. I also never use it. I set brightness to my level, and leave it there. If I can't see it in sun, I move and if I read it in darkness I'm blinded. I'm good with this. :-P

Hi mate, thanks for the response :)

Ahh I see, and oops that's not good that they found deep down that the phone had been rooted and that they charged you £50 :( That's made me think actually, when I downgraded to the MEA firmware that was posted here - that actually came pre-rooted I think which I hope they do not detect with mine their end (despite me doing a full firmware flash back to the stock MGA firmware again and the phone was never rooted or had any custom roms installed prior to me downgrading). Still, I'm glad to hear that it only took 2 days for them to sort your phone out. Mine is scheduled to be repaired by them today going by the report and I'm impressed that they sent me a text message yesterday morning to inform me that they had received the phone.

Giving the end user the option to turn the feature on or off is where the WIN is.

Instead of removing features all together.

I'd say it's better to remove it so that it doesn't clutter up the UI.

We're obviously talking about different things as the brightness adjuster I'm talking about takes no additional space - not to be confused with Samsungs current implementation which shows itself in the notification drop down.

indeed.

but I've just realized that you can adjust the automatic brightness settings which is great! with some playing i might get rid of the need for manual brightness.
