Nope.. I'm a project manager for a bank in Canary wharf.
I work 9-6 and get paid a day rate of £550.

I've been there for 27 months.. must be doing something right!

I love nursing! It is one of the most rewarding and satisfying professions in the world.
Also I am a woman and also bragging about salaries is not big or clever.

You ought to read some of his latest thread posts: he earns £550 per day but is after a cheap runaround, cheap or free parking in London and Switzerland is expensive.
He also hates the working class and we are all thick.

Hehe you know I typed this thread on my phone this morning, and I did think hmm should I make it really clear I mean non alcoholic drinks. hehe congrats on being the first person to mention alcohol.

To make you feel better, I get to take as many breaks as I choose to take with a lunch break that can be as long as needed (within reason). I probably take 30 mins breaks during the morning and a 1.5 hr lunch, then a total of 30-45mins break in the afternoon.
This helps me stay productive, so when I do work I absolutely smash it and storm through it all. This is in the banking environment if it make any difference.

Well yes.. my car is cheap because if you didn't know, property in London is expensive and a huge chunk goes towards my mortgage (+ overpayment).

Here is a truly sad fact for you - £100k net doesn't make you well off in London town.

Im 26.. I think netting £100k is brag worthy! If it isn't then I clearly don't fit into the world of ocuk!

But on a serious note, I've been in hospital more times in my life for serious illnesses than I would like to admit, and you guys do a truly great job. If I could pay you what you're worth I would.

You work at a local hospital to me so if you can get on the Intranet have a look at the Policies because there's bound to be one for food & drink.

We've got 2 new hospitals - 1 with an air con that was designed by a load of chimps (main kitchen linked to MAU, so when the ward is hot, the kitchen is melting!), and the other where random rooms were not considered. People tend to ring us as if we will pop down and whip up an air con from some toilet roll tubes and some sticky back plastic.

I don't have access here, but legally we only have to maintain strict control of temperature and humidity in 2 areas.. SCBU and theatres. The rest need to be managed, but unless people start fainting you don't really need to do much.

I'm also amazed how many staff work in windowless rooms in our new hospital.

My workplace has air con that works so badly and so unreliably that I think it was whipped up from toilet roll tubes and sticky-backed plastic

They did recently move part of it to address the issue of linked air con in areas of significantly different temperature, which is something. It had only been a problem for about 10 years, so that's quite quick. Maybe in another 10 years it will all be working at the same time.
