Go traveling. Most people I've met prefer traveling alone, there's no restrictions. I would recommend doing all the research yourself and avoid any organised thing, they seem a lot more expensive. You'll probably make friends on the plane.

Well to put you more in the picture here is a wee breakdown of what happened:
1. Broke up with the wife in October 12
2. Lost my licence in November 12 (had a seizure)
3. Was made redundant end of July
So with all thats happened and the fact I am now out of a job for the first time in 10 years (was at the same company for that time) I am just looking to chill out. I'd love to go somewhere exotic or maybe Japan to check that out. I have done the states and have been to all inclusive deals in the Caribbean a couple of times.
Maybe the Maldives would be cool but I reckon it would be the same as the Caribbean?
Open to suggestions

That sounds like an epic holiday. Can you remember who you booked it through, and roughly what it cost?
This is a really dull thing to post I realise, but are you sure you want to splash out the money if you're now unemployed? I understand it might seem appealing to get away, but if you have no income, that money could be essential rather than a luxury.

I went away with Solos a couple of years back. It was quite good, well organised. The only thing I found was that with a large group (20+) for this particular holiday, it got a bit cliquey at times, but I'm still friends with a couple of the people.

Flights to Gibraltar with easyJet and the rest direct with tantrum, inc airport transfers, although in retrospect it may have been cheaper to hire a car, really cheap deals off peak apparently!
Cost wise I think it was less than a grand all in for a week, but kitesurfing isn't the cheapest...
The other thing I did was a week surfing in Devon, again stayed in a cheap hostel, did a couple of hours lessons then spent a week in the water or the pub, good times

This does sound like fun but my first thoughts are going to a place like that alone sounds well dodgy. Things like getting mugged or landed with some lady boy spring to mind. Something I would have to read up on.

There is an easy way to tell whether they're ladyboys. Ladyboys are the REALLY good looking women.
You'll probably get caught out, but that's part of the fun.

they are quite easy to spot. Thai girls are average looking, lady boys are often really hot, they are much taller then thia girls, they often behave in a much more sexual way then normal girls.
Getting mugged, as long as you keep off the beach at night you will be fine.
