Not quite to the same degree of ridiculous pricing but I went in to Richer Sounds the other day to buy an HDMI cable and a surge-protected extension lead.

First of all, I was asked whether I wanted the standard HDMI cable or the 'special' cable because 'it's better for 3D', then I was asked whether I wanted the standard surge protector or the 'super-delux' version which 'conditions the electrical signal'.

No doubt some poor bugger actually falls for this ****.

Once I opened the package, I immediately noticed the ground shaking as Angels in heaven sang. Once I plugged this glorious cable from my Blu-Ray to my HDTV, I was literally blown away. The sound, picture, and quality was too amazing. It simply blew my house down, my walls, fixture, and furniture all literally exploded, leaving me homeless. Was it worth it? Yes.

My mates sister bought him some for his birthday, My impression after a quick listen was they were actually very good headphones. (he was running them though a decent CD deck and amp also, so they would never sound that bad)

The problem is the price tag, you can get equivalent quality headphones for half the price, probably less.

But people love the elitism of a designer branded product.

I had some Monster Turbine earphones, they were absolutely stunning!

They were hanging out of my pocket as I walked through the kitchen and they wrapped around a drawer knob D: *SNAP*
